The Lyrics

For all those of you who voted for John Kerry, as the other Senator from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy, said so long ago, "The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die!" For all those of you who voted for George W. Bush, whatever happens over the next four years, you deserve it.
Sittin' in the mornin' sun
not believin' what the evenin' done.
Watchin' the votes roll in
and our future rolls away again.

Yeah, I'm sittin' with a shock on TV
watchin' the tide GOP.
I'm sittin' with a shock on TV.
Fascist time.

I left my home in Jersey
headed for the voting booth
'cause I've had it up to here with
a moron warmonger who won't tell the truth.

Now, I'm just sittin' with a shock on TV
watchin' the tide GOP.
I'm sittin' with a shock on TV.
Fascist time.

Looks like White House will not change.
Everything still remains the same.
I can't see why people vote the way they do.
So I guess I'll just go insane.

Just sittin' here with achin' bones
and this sick feelin' won't leave me alone.
John Kerry turned out wrong.
Now I write this tragic song.

Now, I'm just sittin' with a shock on TV
watchin' the tide GOP.
I'm sittin' with a shock on TV.
Fascist time.
This song is supposed to fade out with a whistle. Well, I can't whistle. Except for all those parodies where I said John Kerry WILL be our next President -- well, I suppose it's still possible, he didn't lose by so big a margin as to "disqualify" him for 2008 -- when I seemed to be "whistling past the graveyard." Let's hope it's not literal, but with Georgie Bush, you never know.

Well, Michael, as much as I want to stay away from political parodies right now I took a look and this was very well done. 5's...Hang in there and hope some of the Constitution & Bill of Rights survives the next four years. What will happen with the Federal Court appointments, however, makes me shiver even as I type this morning. It's already very badly stacked with Right-Wing Ideologues...I know Bush will start hammering away and appointing even more extreme lunatics, knowing the Dems will only be able to block a small number without being labelled "Obstructionists" for the purpose of flogging them in the NEXT mid-term election. Gloom...

Well done. Hey, at least it took your mind off the Yankees...

God had a plan for this to happen, so that Michael Pacholek would write scathing parodies about Bush. What's the fun of writing on a President that he agrees with? If I were him or Tong or another one of you infidels, I'd be kissing Bush's feet because he's an inspiration by his ineptitude.

Well, the last time I heard someone say we righties were getting what we deserved for electing Dubya, it was in reference to "The 6th Day" starring Arnold Schwartzenegger! I guess I can live with that...

Hey Michael, all good people feel your pain. Another day that will live in infamy, a tragedy for the country and the world.

You found parallels with the original that I wouldn't have expected. Great job, Michaelopedia.

Hey, I must say, I REALLY enjoyed this parody! Great job! I loved it - not for the typical crap like "fascist" (which is a part of the reason you all lost - you know, that childish name calling you do so well), but the fact that you tried so hard for so long to write parodies that were full of poisen and hate and sore-losing spins for four solid years... and all that turned out to be what was expected, your loss - a GRAND day for me back then... and this parody brought back all those happy feelings again, thank you! I also like the comments, like from Adam B., "all good people feel your pain" - good, meaning bashing, trashing whining sorts of "good people"? "tragedy" - hardly - the only tragedy for the lot of you is that you lost and it hurts and you all have a terrible horrific problem in dealing with losing.... (and that really is sad)... Again, thanks for the memories, it was fun!
