The Lyrics

This Ol' Songwriter Here Was Mr. Johnson From Sesame Street Along With Eric Paulsen.
[Verse 1]
Each Time I See The Waiter When I Come Here,
Not Caring Less Or Anything At This Time.
This Time This Memory Got Me Thinking Of Grover,
Couldn't Get Any Food To Get Him Out Of My Mind.

[Chorus]
This Time The Waiter Let Me Down.
And Let The Hunger Come Around.
The One Blue Monster That I've Found,
This Time The Waiter Let Me Down.

[Verse 2]
I've Always Ordered Pizza When I'm Hungry,
But Lately I've Not Eaten Anything Yet.
And The Waiter Here Is Always Making Me Angry,
And I'm Eating At This Restaurant Here, I Bet.

[Chorus]
This Time The Waiter Let Me Down.
And Let The Hunger Come Around.
The One Blue Monster That I've Found,
This Time The Waiter Let Me Down.
Also, This Song Parody Was Sung By Mr. Johnson Himself.

You should check out Elvis Costello's cover of this song, if you haven't already. His version appears on his 1981 country covers album Almost Blue. Elvis Costello is my favorite musician.

I Respect Your Opinion On Elvis Costello. Grover The Waiter May Not Like Elvis Or The Other Elvis That Died, But Mr. Johnson Respects His Opinions On Elvis Costello. Just Remember, This Song Was Written By Eric Paulsen And Mr. Johnson.
