Parody Song Title:

"Carbo Affair"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

If you do not know the OS, a low bit-rate MP3 can be found here
Have you had a carbo affair?
Barley, maize, oats, buckwheat and rye
Be leaveny and soon will rise square
If yeast you add, bake in oven so fine

Toss out the steak - eat an all bran dessert
Pasta, cake, rolls, wheatgerm and soy
Maccaroni and noodles inert
And some chick peas do high fiber employ

Well, you should try it, not ponder scorn
Barley, maize, oats, buckwheat and rye
Then gobble some fruit (wince Adkins with horr')
And them-uesli your corpuscles do fine

Ah can you find me a bagel or yam
Pasta, cake, rolls, wheatgerm and soy
Between the s'ghetti and wholemeal bran
Root veggies, see, you'll love to enjoy

And have rice brown-ed with some sweet corn
Barley, maize, oats, buckwheat and rye
And cereal cover with fine sugar (brown)
And lentils, peas or cassava is fine!

And when you have cleaned your digestive tract
Pasta, cake, rolls, wheatgerm and soy
Then come to beans for your final act
And then you will all your lovers annoy...

Thank you all - it started out a straight 'grain oreinted' parody, but then all those veggies and pasta crept in, so I decided might as well end it with a good fart joke... ;-)

Ooh wait...yesterday I voted before realizing you had credited Marianne Faithful as the performer! :-[ I only know Simon & Garfunkel's version, but I'm sure they're pretty much the same. I still gave it a 5-5-5.

Thanks again everyone.

Nally, they are quite a bit different actually - listen to the clip above and you will see. I think Marianne's version is far superior myself...

I listened to MF's version of the song; IMHO S&G's version is much better, but anyway... this flows quite well to her version, and the ending was awesome. =)

Philip, does your comment have some sort of context? It is a bit lost on me at present, I am afraid :(

Sorry. You probably don't frequent the messageboard, so you probably don't know nally's real name.
