Song Parodies -> Logomachy
| Original Song Title: | "Locomotion" |
| Original Performer: | Little Eva |
| Parody Song Title: | "Logomachy" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
One definition of logomachy (lo-GOM-uh-key) is “meaningless battle of words.” For purposes of this parody, the word in question is pronounced lo-go-MAHK-y.
Every one is spewin’ a grandstand chant now,
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
You know that they like to hear themselves go on a rant now,
Come on, base creeps, spew the logomachy.
More than a little crazy and twisted are the
Men and women that we send off to D.C.,
So Congress, come on, spew the logomachy madly—
You gotta flap your lips, now, come on, crazies,
Harrumph, attack. Well go and prove you don’t know jack.
Now that you can spew it, go be a bane now,
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
You mumble-stumble blowhards, minus a full brain now,
Come on, zanies, spew the logomachy.
Do it vile and sleazy; you’re out of control.
Dole unlimited bullshit, show you’re an ahole,
So Congress, come on, spew the logomachy madly.
Spew in on the floor, inept logomachy,
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
Do it blowing wind—show you’re a loco wacky,
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
There’s never been a rant that’s so easy to spew,
So got out there and grandstand for the CSPAN crew,
So Congress, come on, spew the logomachy madly.
Come on, Congress, spew the logomachy
Come on, Congress, spew as loco wackies. . . .
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
You know that they like to hear themselves go on a rant now,
Come on, base creeps, spew the logomachy.
More than a little crazy and twisted are the

So Congress, come on, spew the logomachy madly—
You gotta flap your lips, now, come on, crazies,

Now that you can spew it, go be a bane now,
Come on, crazies, spew the logomachy.
You mumble-stumble blowhards, minus a full brain now,
Come on, zanies, spew the logomachy.

Another new word. I saw clips from the Daily Show on the Sotmayor hearings and you have hit the nail right on the head with this parody - all the questions are merely grandstanding for the one asking the question - 555
More informative, entertaining and scarily dead-on spoofin' from the LogorrhRegal J. Barry, Esq.!
I also find them to be quite loquacious, but I found this parody to be quite...eloquent. ;-)
The same could perhaps be said for the Talking Heads on cable newscasts... but perhaps that's a different parody! Loved this one.
Great bash on a great annoyance!!
Lord Thumper, alias SirSweaty . . . . Sir, shall I add ~Whacko Major ~ to your list of unSavory titles, Sir ?
Nicely done, John. I put 3 5's on you! ;D
Thanks, Timmy (absolutely), TJC, blackjack, Fiddlegirl, Mark, Madame, Ribber.
