| Original Song Title: | "And When I Die" |
| Original Performer: | Laura Nyro/Blood Sweat and Tears |
| Parody Song Title: | "Art Carney Died" |
| Parody Written by: | Adam Bernstein |
Art Carney died,
Ed Nortons dead, dead and gone,
But there'll be Honeymooners
Reruns, to carry on to carry on,
Ralph Cramden wants, to learn how to golf,
And his old friend Norton thinks he's got the problem solved,
When Ralph wants to find out how to address the ball,
Ed Norton's got it figured out he says, "Hello Ball", yes he says
"Hello Ball", yeah, Norton just says, "Hello Ball".
(chorus)
But Norton died,
Today at 85,
And he's goin' to that big
Honeymooners show in the sky, in the sky.
For Harry and Tonto he starred, with a cat
The Oscar went to him and the feline got the scraps.
But when he played Ed Norton, with his head in Cramdens' fridge,
He was our favorite sewer worker, at whom Ralph would always bitch,
Yes at whom Ralph would always bitch, yea-ea-eah, at whom Ralph would always bitch.
Art Carney died,
Today at 85,
And he'll meet Jackie Gleason
In that one room walkup in the sky.
Ed Nortons dead, dead and gone,
But there'll be Honeymooners
Reruns, to carry on to carry on,
Ralph Cramden wants, to learn how to golf,
And his old friend Norton thinks he's got the problem solved,

Adam, very good tribute to a fine actor and I think Mr Carney would have liked your tribute to his life and his humor. Very tastefully done with just the right amount of well placed injected humor. Well done!
A very nice tribute. Many writers here are Laura Nyro Fans. I hope they all give this a look.
Art Carney one one the greats, nice work.
Great parody, about a great actor! Almost as classic as "the investment firm of Merril, Lynch, Pierce, Fedder & Ziggy"! :)
