Original Song Title:

"Climb Every Mountain"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"Click Every Button"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

..or how to test an application
Click every button, drop every drag
Test every program, find every snag
Click every button, hit every key
Check every bit of functionality

A program will need
All the time you give best
To get rid of the bugs
Get it to beta test

Click every button, scroll every bar
Pick every menu, each acceleratar

Testing's boring, I know
It's a job I detest
But we must get our code
Out of beta test

Click every button, hit every key
Check every bit of functiona-aliiiiityyyyyyyyyy
Maybe there should be a sequel: "How do you find a bug in your compiler"

Boy, I don't think there is anything more boring (for me, anyway) than testing an "Early Release" of a program for bugs...still, it's useful...if someone in charge of organizing it has a clue...which they generally didn't at the last place I did that type of testing...nothing more aggravating that writing up a bunch of "Error Reports" and having the programmer cancel them because "this isn't an 'OFFICIAL RELEASE' so the program isn't functional anyway at this time...or some other such BS...so what did I just spend 4 or 5 hours testing it for?
