I can't bottle up my political opinions any further than I have. For those with sensitive political leanings, please click the back button before it's too late. For everyone else, proceed with caution. I can't make my views any clearer than this.
Imagine a true democracy
It's something we can try
No electoral votes
And the populus decides
Imagine all the citizens
Choosing who's in charge
Imagine no more parties
It's what I love to do
No leftists and rightists
And no moderates too
Imagine the candidates
Running on their own
You may say that I'm deluded
But I can't be alone
I hope one day you'll realize
The system has us owned
Imagine no more campaigns
It wouldn't be so bad
No need for eyesore posters
Or inane attacking ads
Imagine all the platforms
Are honest and clean
You may say that I've gone crazy
You know I'm not alone
I hope one day you'll realize
The system has us owned
It's something we can try
No electoral votes
And the populus decides
Imagine all the citizens
Choosing who's in charge
Imagine no more parties
It's what I love to do
No leftists and rightists
And no moderates too
Imagine the candidates
Running on their own
You may say that I'm deluded
But I can't be alone
I hope one day you'll realize
The system has us owned
Imagine no more campaigns
It wouldn't be so bad
No need for eyesore posters
Or inane attacking ads
Imagine all the platforms
Are honest and clean
You may say that I've gone crazy
You know I'm not alone
I hope one day you'll realize
The system has us owned

imagine people are perfect...it ain't gonna happen; but whatever you want, imagining alone won't get it; but your pacing is great
The founders were hoping we'd never have political parties. Thing is, even back then, there were differing ideologies (federalist vs. antifederalist), even though the "right" and "left" as we know them today did not yet exist.
ITA w/the sentiment and it's a good parody besides! Fives for you.
Thank you everyone. I was honestly bracing myself for some partisan backlash. Thanks for responding like adults.
A good parody and a good message... Have you heard A Perfect Circle cover the original? It's really good....
If wishes were horses, I would ride, ride, ride. I guess you would too.
MrMacphisto- Thanks, I'm glad everyone understood the message. Offender- Thanks, I've read your stuff too. It's bold stuff. :-)
