The Lyrics

I penned this 9/11-themed song two years ago for a progressive parodying website called The People's Cube. This was a protest against the unbelievable gall of some Muslims in attempting to build a large mosque a mere 500 yards from Ground Zero, and the amazing arrogance of Mayor Bloomberg (who is The Dhim in this song) in attempting to green light this project against the will of the vast majority of Americans people
After all the votes are in their pockets
And the pols have all gone to bed
You can hear happy Muslims dancing in the street
Masjid mocks the dead
And the Dhim whimpers ... Shari'ah

A tower is falling down, smashing
All of the illusions of yesterday's life
Somewhere a widow's weeping
Somewhere a pol lost his wife#
And the Dhim he tries .. Shari'ah

The morning light it gleams on the water
And cast no more shadows after the dawn
An ugly pit scarred the West Side
Cause towers that stood .. are gone
But The Dhim crawls .. to Shari'ah

Will The Dhim ever remember
The lives that were lost in the past
And with our shock and our rage and our wisdom
We cry out "No, this outrage won't last"
While the Dhim tries .. Shari'ah
Dhim -- short for dhimmi, a second class citizen in a Muslim state ... masjid -- Arabic for masque ...... #Theodore Olsen, Solicitor General under George Bush lost his wife, Barbara on 9/1. My younger sister once met her

If you want religious freedom, you must tolerate them all. The Muslims involved were a peaceable bunch. Their request for a mosque tested the open-heartedness of Americans and revealed the average hater's niggardly* interpretation of the First Amendment. Their reaction was the foulest form of hypocrisy and brought back ignorant, murderous notions of collective guilt.

Barbara Olsen was a virulent right-wing polemicist who was on her way to a taping of a TV show hosted by Bill Maher, a virulent left-wing polemicist.

*I could see some of today's public school graduates misinterpreting this word.

Funny how people like you demand that we allow an aggressive supremacist religion to build a shrine to themselves on a property that they were able to get for dirt cheep because the building on it was severely damaged by the landing gear of one of the planes that killed 3000 people; but on the other hand you have no problem with Islam declaring the world's largest subcontinent off limits to anything but Islam. And I guess you also have no problem with the fact that any non-Muslim found within 50 miles of Mecca would be killed. Tolerance is a two-way street

This parody smells of Islamophobia and hatred for all the Muslim peoples, most of which just want to have freedom to worship in peace. Would you have been happier if the proposed Mosque was 1,000 ft from Ground Zero, or 1,500, or just plain out of sight in a bad part of town? Seriously, dude?

And your comment smells of hatred for anyone who would object to anything that Muslims would try to pull. Let's look at this from the standpoint of a host/guest relationship. A host has a duty to make a guest comfortable, but a guest also has a duty t refrain from making unreasonable demands, such as building a massive mosque near the site where 3000 Americans were killed by people of their own faith and naming it the Corboda Mosque -- after an immense mosque built in Spain after Tariq ibn Ziad conquered Spain. Does that sound like a reasonable course of action for you? .... As for what line I would draw, I'll go with, "No mosque can be built in the area where any person suffered any physical harm whatsoever on 9/11, to include respiratory problems from inhaling the dust kicked up by the falling buildings." So that would probably extend the no-build zone out to about a mile from point zero. How's that?

Read what Martin Luther* and Winston Churchill had to say about Islam. Just about every shooting war or potential blow up in the world today is the result of the centuries-old conflict between Islam and the rest of the world. It took Christians a long time to stop killing each other over interpretations of Jesus' words. Maybe some day Islam and the West can find a way to reconcile, but there seems to be some internal dynamic involved that prevents this from happening. *The German religious reformer from Wuerttemburg, not the preacher from Atlanta.
