"Degrease Me"

Parody Written by:

On March 24, 1989, the Exxon Valdez, captained by a drunken stooge named Joseph Hazlewood, ran aground in Prince William Sound, Alaska, and spilled 260,000 barrels (42 gallons/barrel) of poison into a once pristine environment. To this day, the Sound is still f*cked up. Among the many human victims were my sister-in-law and her husband, whose aquaculture business was ruined. Untold numbers of birds and other animals died as a result of the disaster. I was reminded of the disaster recently when I ran across the "Tanker from Hell" T-shirt my sister-in-law sent me shortly after it occurred.
Please degrease me; wet me so
This oil sloughs off onto the floor.
This waste is clinging to my skin.
Degrease me and let me fly again.

Before this, the Sound was clear.
That's why I thought I would fish here.
The fish thrive where the water's cold
Valdez leaked tons of crude oil from the hold.

Please degrease me, set me free;
There's toxic crude clinging to me.
Can't forgive Exxon for this pain.
Degrease me and let me fly again.
