As the paint dries
The old man sat by the fire warmed
A plain wooden puppet boy was formed
By Gepetto

And old Papa sighs
To a wishing star we hear him plead
"A real little boy is what I need"
Says Gepetto

A fairy came 'n waved her hand
The puppet got up to stand
He went on stage and the people could hear him say
"Everybody look and see"
"I've got no strings on me"
The show's boss was a bad man
And so he ran away

The story turns
He's a little wooden boy with a pointy nose
When he tells a lie it grows and grows
Oh Gepetto

And it's fun he yearns
And so for Pleasure Island they sail
And he grows donkey ears
And he grows a long tail
Oh Gepetto

After his strange transformation
Puppet boy breaks away
He goes back home, finds a note
Finds Monstro, and goes down his throat
And his papa cries

Now he's stuck inside a whale with his old man
So he made a lot of smoke and out he swam
With Gepetto

Then the puppet dies
But the fairy made the boy transform
And Pinocchio took on human form
For Gepetto
