DKTOS also...but agree also...my brother, David creating a saying about mixed metaphors using about three of them all thrown together to explain why one shouldn't use mixed metaphors. It was very clever, but unfortunately I can't remember how it goes now. I've been sitting here about 5 minutes kicking it around and nada...zippo...I do know that all three he used were really oft-spoken old chestnuts that I must have heard 1,000 times each. Wait..."Mixed metaphors are a pain in the neck and.....(???)"...Well, maybe something like that. I think it's funnier if you actually spit it out instead of bumbling around like I am now. oh, well...
