Song Parodies -> You Be, John, Tune-Free

Original Song Title:

"You Belong to Me"

Original Performer:

Duprees

Parody Song Title:

"You Be, John, Tune-Free"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

Tried to grok the sax; struggled a while.
The squawks that I yakked made no one smile.
So I tossed it onto the trash pile.
Blew B wrong; toot G.

Tried the piano and forced folks to hear
Dreadful dissonance that pierced each ear.
One day my mate made it crystal-clear:
"You be, John, tune-free.

The saxophone is not for you;
Piano ain't your forte, forgo, too."

Tried guitar, it had a nice wood grain.
My playing caused the neighborhood pain.
Any instrument would be my bane.
"You be, John, tune-free."

Note-worthy. A major Fifth...... uh, btw, this wasn't addressed to anything, or anyone, in particular, was it? :) :) :) (best way to reply to anything here - with a parody!)

I'm not sure...but is this the same old, "You Belong To Me" also done way back, by Patti Page...seems to fit the pacing..anyway...either way good job...

Hehehehe, nice parody. It sure answered my question from yesterday! And although you're not much of a musician, you truly are a lyricist par excellence.
