The Lyrics

This is one of my two parodies for the Final Round of the AmiRight Survivor Contest. It´s about Star Trek and it also contains a bit of self-irony about the nerdy life of a Trekker, such as myself. :-)
Come see, a redshirt frighten'
Come see, tribbles in the hay
Come see, green babes and fightin'
Come see, lightyears away

Let´s go warp tonight
We´re not bound to get a life
There´s a Trek Show on at nine

I hear, the Hirogens are huntin'
I know, the Borg is coming soon
I fear, Riker´s only mountin'
I hear, that Worf is full of prunes

Let´s go warp tonight
We´re not bound to get a life
There´s a Trek Show on at nine
All right!

Bet you´ll, meet Joe Black, Mayweather
Hope you, are logical T´Pol
Looks like, they´re in decon together
Play Nays' mistaken for an Ay

We´ll not Q´pla for less
We´re still-born to life I guess
Half the basement´s our Mess

Let´s go there tonight
We´re not bound to get a life
There´s a Trek Show on at nine

Maybe I´ll make it so, assimilate some more CCR. We got week #47 coming up soon, resistance is futile. ;-)

So Peter judging from grasp of the English language and slangs that you have, you must have either attended school or worked in an english speaking country for some years Am I Right? Just curious.... Btw I am just a crazy Swede with a Canuck wifey.....

Patrick: You really didn´t have to look any further away than the copyright notice to find the name. Yes, it´s Peter. No, I have never lived outside of Scandinavia. (A final frontier yet to be explored). As for schools… I guess approximately 5 years as a regular reader of and contributor to sf-related punchline competitions has been very good for the ability to find and deliver oneliners on practically any subject. It´s coming in handy here, I like to think. Also, I´m a big fan of Jay Leno´s stand up comedy routine. Your wife is probably familiar with it and it is my guess that the two of you might enjoy watching it together (The Tonight Show). Our Channel 5 have been showing it for a couple of years now, though they can´t seem to decide on a set time. It´s currently on at 09:20 in the mornings and various late times during the night.
