Parody Song Title:

"Captain Kirk's Strange Crew"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

Remember the original "Star Trek" series? There was an episode where Kirk ended up in a "Reverse-Parallel" universe where all his crewmen were disloyal, belligerent, untrustworthy cut-throats. However, in the end he got bailed out by "Reverse-Parallel" Spock, who was aware of the absurdity of the situation but being a duty-minded, practical, logical Vulcan went along with it to survive and serve. We now revisit this episode thru the eyes and thoughts of Captain Kirk, in song parody format (picture the song's instrumental music running through Kirk's head as he has these thoughts and observations, then picture him singing the lyrics in his best William Shatner, "Captain Kirk" persona, with his over-dramatized, kind of rhetorical manner of speech. lyric link: http://leoslyrics.com/artists/1420/Audio link: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&uid=UIDSUB040402280004073175&sql=Auh9ds32ua3dg
Strange crew - doesn't feel right to you

I am on my ship but there's something weird
why just overnight Spock has grown a beard
scars, too
though it looks kind of cool
Strange crew - what am I gonna do?

I winked at a Yeoman passing in the hall
She removed her top and said "Wanna ball?"
I do
But what is with my crew?
Strange crew - I'm not sure what to do

I said "Hi" to Sulu he said, "F*ck you, Jim"
I can't figure out what got into him
That's rude
A real bad attitude
Strange crew - still don't know what to do

Strange crew - strange crew - strange crew - deranged crew
Deranged crew - good thing old Spock came through
P.S. - all the way through the whole thing I'm imagining Kirk with "Strange Brew" playing in his head...He's going "I...just...can't...seem...to...get this...crazy, odd song out of...my head....Spock. Could....that....mean....something....?

MacPhisto & Alvin. Thanks again. Yes, of the three I submitted for today this was my favorite. I thought this one had just the right amount of absurd lunacy in each verse to capture the Captain's dilemna (and thought processes, such as they were).

I was just going to say that this was my favorite of the ones you put in today too, Paul. I found a midi of it that actually rocked.
