Original Performer:

Chicago

Parody Song Title:

"Single File"

Parody Written by:

Jim Rotondo

From the first Chicago single (45) I ever bought with Colour My World on the flip side.
Fire drill, during school, in the fall.
Freshman nerd, in the line, by the wall.
Staring at Suzanne, I lose my place, swerving aside.

I’m in trouble
Teacher saw me
Seeing double
Nails to claw me
Detention today
Single file.

Chalkboard strife, punishment, so I pay.
Breaking rules, note sent to mom, gone astray.
Dad will whip my hide, before homework, my ass is grass.

Oh my poor butt, what went wrong here?
Checking out broads, in my first year.
High school really sucks, for this guy.

Now I line up, with the teacher.
No more Suzanne, creature feature.
Detention today
Single file.
