Parody Song Title:

"Blowin' Once Again"

Parody Written by:

Rick Duncan

Well-deserved tribute to gardeners
How many leaves can a man blow away
Before the whole front yard is clean?
How many times must he go back and forth
With his 1.5 H.P. machine?
Once every week he arrives with his truck
Just to keep somebody's lawn green

The gardener, my friend
Is blowin' once again
The gardener is blowin' once again

How many decibels can this blower make
While making the dust swirl around?
How loud must you shout just to be overheard
When you must compete with this sound?
How long will it take 'til he figures out
That the leaves blow right back where they were found

The gardener, my friend
Is blowin' once again
The gardener is blowin' once again

Now that he's gone it is peaceful once more
That godawful racket has passed
Take a deep breath of the air outside
And remember you're allergic to grass
Now what do you see pulling up right next door
Another one louder than the last

The gardener, my friend
Is blowin' once again
The gardeners are blowin' once again

Made me smile :) The whole song was pretty good, except for the reference to God.

I liked this one, too - especially the "allergic to grass" sting in the tail.

Adagio, where is the reference to God?
Rick D - October 20, 2003 - Report this comment
Adagio means "godawful". I consider this to be a term that has nothing to do with the almighty. Just like godfather, godforsaken and Innagoda-davida

Here it comes again people. The good ol' reference to GOD and the little complaint about how the parody would have been so much better without it. No freedom of speech on this site! But isn't it always the same ones that start all the balogna going around by jumping on little things in the parodies that may happen to offend them? A comment made on one of Smurf's parodies was right on. It said " Why don't you people go and start your own parody site and then you can censor everything". Couldn't have said it better myself. Live and let live or get off the planet.

I was hoping this was about the Red Sox.

Rick D - I'm doing a "Blowing In The Wind" based parody and I wanted to make sure it was unique and I caught this one that was posted "pre-Paul" on this site. Good job.
