The Lyrics

Intro - ( "Oh woe is me, oh woe is me, oh woe is me, oh woe is me,
oohhhh, oh woe is me")

Well, I lay prone where I fell upon the wood.
Fell down from socks just like I knew I would.
Fell down, yea, but did not hit my dome.
When I'm down, yea, guess I was all alone.
Well, I would not feel so ver' alone,
If I didn't lay so prone.

Well, I snoozed, yea, on the floor I took a sleep.
While down there did figure that was so sweet.
Ya see, I never walk upon the floor.
I'm upright while I'm walking thru the door.
If I had not slipped upon the floor,
Wouldn't feel like I'd been stoned.

The poise with me is just a miscast fable.
My want to stay on two feet is not anal.
Alone I always end up in the muck.
I've honed it so that it's more than bad luck.
Well, I need not feel so all alone.
Everybody ends up thrown.

- instrumental -

Well, they're stern when they say that it's the end.
You can be stern back and say, "Well, it's MY end."
They're stern, yea, they go a bit too far.
They're stern, yea, no matter where they are.
Seems like what they want is for me to atone.
DIS-locating my hipbone.
(oh yeah)

- instrumental -

Well, I'm done so you can go it alone.
I'll just sit here and read this here tome.
Silly people said that I was so brave.
Wouldn't help, so I went to my grave.
Do not think I'd feel so all alone,
Everybody join in tomb.

So many great lines and puns...they're absolutely crawling out of the "word-work" here...I guess I'd have to say I'm "prone" to giving you "5's" here ~ ~ ~

Ha ha - for a minute I thought this was gonna be a 'normal' one. Then it moved off into that LSD-like fogginess that is Pat's excellent trademark... :-D

Paul - word-work? You ought to set up your own punshop....lol

Very well constructed. Love Dylan parodies, and this is no exception. 555

Thanks, Dee, but this particular Dylan song was a bear to work with. Does he ever sing *with* the song?

ha, I've been waiting for this one, Pat - and how true (to your last comment) - it's hard to stay loyal to his pacing, and give the reader a smooth ride at the same time - loved "DIS-locating my hipbone" - 555

Well, Stu, even though I was tearing my hair out, I guess it was fun. A fun that I will do once in a blue moon however. It lends itself more to comedy than my seriousness.
