The Lyrics

I wrote this one five years ago, but reworked it a bit to pay tribute to a great actor.
Standing with a cigar in his mouth,
Wears a trenchcoat and ruffled hair,
"Just one more thing, sir", he says to the killer,
To Johnny Cash how could he dare

He's Lieutenant Columbo,
Seems Italian it's true.
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew..

He hates to fly a plane, but he has to,
His wife is always out of the scene,
His dog is depressed,
and his car is a mess
Yet he sees right through Dick Van Dyke's scheme.

He's Lieutenant Columbo,
Seems Italian it's true.
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew

He's our favorite LA detective,
Though his accent is from New York,
And don't forget he, was in some great movies,
A true artist and a one of a kind.

He's Lieutenant Columbo,
Seems Italian it's true.
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew

(interlude)
Once when Falk was playing baseball,
The umpire made a bad call,
Took out his glass eye,
Handed it to the guy,
"I think you need this more than I doo-hoo - think!"

Twice he captured Patrick McGoohan,
Yes the guy from The Prisoner,
TV sucks today, you can throw it away,
but I recall one show that was great...

He's Lieutenant Columbo,
Seems Italian it's true.
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew

He appeared in Wings of Desire,
Said he was an angel on Earth,
But back on TV, he sets up Roddy
McDowell with some fake dynamite,

He's Lieutenant Columbo,
Seems Italian it's true.
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew
But Peter Falk has a glass eye,
And he really is a Jew

Adam - (as I turn away and almost make it to the door) Ohh...by da way...I almost forgot! Tanks for includin' da basaball story! Ya know dey told him he'd never act in da movies an' TV because of da glass eye! Hey, wait a minute...it didn't hurt Sandy Duncan or Jack Elam none. You don't suppose...(ENOUGH! We'll not see his like again. He was one great Falkin' actor!) Great job...I just tought I'd mention it. ;D

You know, this parody, there's just one thing about it that bothers me, I can't get it out of my mind... No there isn't, it's great. Book him, laughter in the 5th degree.
