The Lyrics

Oh just word one and then it’s done; no talkin’ spree
You need; it’s plain; you should refrain; you’re painin’ me.

Too much you say; meanings you clone—tautology.

I can’t believe that you won’t leave quite well alone.
It’s just not right, this strange sound bite. . .intone atone.

You don’t need “kine” added to “cows”—tautology.

Because with just one word, it’s plain:
It’s turd-burgeoned that scourge the plain.
Because we know spurge-splurging beasts
Don’t need a two-term feast.

So let’s be clear: if it’s “brew beer” that you should say,
You don’t bring home a drink with foam stated that way.

Just chug it down, but leave the foam on top for me.

Add “pigs” to “swine,” you will know now: tautology.

Redundancy gives me a pain,
Such as when I hear “panel pane.”
You know that a “sturgeon fish” feast
Drives me to drink with yeast. . .

That is, to beer; I’ll draw it near my lips and taste;
That frothy dome of hoppy foam I will not waste.
Fall on the ground because I’m stoned,
Beam shots in me,
Besotted me,
Taut sotted me*

* a tautology of sorts, with “tight” being one meaning of “taut”

First reaction was that "tautology" was being misused for "redundancy", but that's due to moi's background in formal logic as opposed to its more general meaning. Of course, you're right and correct, and I agree: Redundancy is one of my pet peeves that bothers me the most and annoys me, being seen quite commonly, frequently and very often.

Needless to say, I dared to vote only one Five.
