Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Lagniappe"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

Pourboire for the man who brought you out the scone, sir.
Got a few bucks extra cash?
Pourboire--not a krone!--this ain't a Danish zone, sir,
Put that coin back in your cache.

Lagniappe,
Lagniappe withholding is quite wrong. . . .
Lagniappe, pourboire.

Leave propina, large sum, be a tipping yeoman
For the nice grub-juggling man.
Only churls cold-shoulder waiters, like a snowman.
Slip some into the tip can.
Lagniappe,
Lagniappe withholding is quite wrong. . . .
Lagniappe, propina.

Don't snub the waiters; they're who
Bear that fine-meals food
And they're low-paid, sweatin',
Don't go home forgettin'.
Lagniappe,
Lagniappe withholding is quite wrong.

Bet ($555) I know where you got them shoes, man.
Too damned long, probably 10 years, since I've been to NOLA. Fond memories of living there--well, Metaire, actually--'48-'53, tho' only personally remember maybe '44 onwards. Am drooling as I type atthe thought of a muffaleta from Central Grocery. :-)

Serendipity! I'm in Louisiana right now on business. When I get my mudbugs, I'll be sure to leave a little extra. 555

As a Louisiana native and resident, it was my duty to vote on this one! C'est bon!
