Original Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Yentas Bray"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

Pardon my Yiddish. yenta: a gossipy woman; bubkes: something trivial or worthless; yentz: to copulate, according to Leo Rosten, in "The Joy of Yiddish": "yentz is a most coarse word, never used in the presence of women, children, or elders."
Yentas bray; they got bubkes, yet they kvetch away,
Punctuated by many "Oy veh!"s.
You can't believe what yentas say.

Shmucks they'd be, that's if they were men; casuistry
Is what they practice incessantly. . .
What's Yiddish word for sophistry?

How they can go on for so long, I just can't say.
And the things they talk--mostly shlock, when yentas bray.

Yentas bray; love they discuss in such a coarse way.
So take the kinder--hide them away,
I'll also leave; it's "yentz" they say.

Oy, oy, oy, oy, oy, oy vey!

Yesterday is a fairly short OS but not this short; missing the "why she had.." part and the last verse. Sorry John, 4s.
