The Lyrics

I read the news today oh boy
Terri Schiavo is a vegetable,
The Rightwing wants her kept alive,
But not those on Death Row,
They want them all to die.

Baretta's wife shot in his car,
Bonnie Blakely led a life of sleaze,
The jury set Robert Blake free,
They'd seen his face before
Everyone was really sure
Baretta's wife was far from pure.

I saw a film today oh boy
The Passion of the Christ said Jews were bad,
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Mel Gibson's such a schnook.
Dick Cheney turns me off.

Woke up, to go to court,
Michael Jackson ain't your normal sort,
Found his way downstairs and drank a cup,
Of Jesus Juice and noticed he was late. (he, he, he, he)
In China Condi Rice,
Made her threats while smiling nice,
And the new U.S. Ambassador to the U.N,
named Bolton spoke, is it just a scary dream? (Ahhh, ah ah ahhhh, ah ah, AHHHH, ahh, ahh, ahh, ahh, ahhh, DAAAA, DA DAAA, DA da)

I read the news today oh boy
One hundred thousand dead Iraqi folks,
In Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo
Where they torture them all
Then they say they brought democracy, but everyone's appalled.
Dick Cheney turns me off

Well-written and true. But the "I Buried Paul" bit is from "Strawberry Fields Forever," not "A Day In The Life." I'll tri-five you anyway.

Pure garbage, worthy of all zeros, if I could give them. A parody is worthless if it lies, as this one does. (1) No human being, no matter how disabled, is a "vegetable." Your "eugenic" attitude is exactly the Nazis' way of thinking. Kill 'em if they can't do something useful. (2) Mel Gibson's movie does NOT say that "Jews were bad," but makes it clear that we are ALL sinners, as shown by the incredibly brutal non-Jews who participated in Jesus's murder. (3) There is nothing at all wrong with Rice, Bolton, Wolfowitz, and Bush. (4) However many dead Iraqis there are, the fault is not that of the current U.S. administration -- but rather the fault belongs to Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden, and their insane disciples. With a Jewish name like "Adam Bernstein," one would think that you would be supporting the U.S. against Islamic terrorism -- but I guess that your Liberal Democrat blood runs so deep that you can only react with thoughtless, kneejerk anti-conservatism. What a pathetic sort you are, sir!

Is this parody suggesting that the justice (or lack of justice) being served in the Blake and Jackson cases is somehow connected to Dick Cheney?

"The Passion of the Christ" did not say that Jews were bad. It showed that Jewish Pharisees were involved in the crucifixion.

Adam: As Mel Gibson would say if he had your ideology, "Illegitimi non carborundum." Don't let the bastards get you down. Lurker: Who died and made you king? Nobody. This parody is not funny, but then, that's not the point. The point is to point out that Dick Cheney, the administration he runs, and those of the same political persuasion, like YOU, are EVIL. There are no lies in this parody. He didn't say "Terri Schiavo is a vegetable," he said, "I read the news today, oh boy, Terri..." He's telling you what he read. But then, you're too blinded by your fanaticism to understand the difference. The Nazis? Your politics suggest that you're an expert on the subject. "Kill 'em if they can't do something useful"? So why the hell are YOU still alive? There is plenty wrong with every member of the Cheney-Bush Administration. Just by being sworn in, you are accepting a stolen election. Dead Iraqis can be blamed on bin Laden? Al-Qaeda was not in Iraq until Saddam fell. This has been proven many times. And how can Iraqis killed since Saddam fell be blamed on Saddam? That's like blaming 86 years of Boston's inability to win the World Series on Babe Ruth. Only that was done for laughs. Nobody's laughing here, except bin Laden, who now has more control of Iraq than Bush does. And by supporting Bush, YOU helped make that happen. How does that make you feel? One more thing: Adam Bernstein has more honesty in each finger with which he typed this parody than you have in your entire fascist body. Roll THAT in your joint and smoke it!

Lurker, plenty of people are vegetables... Have you ever been to a hospice? The attitude of killing vegetables is no more "eugenic" than the killing of murderers -- neither serve much use, do they? I do agree though, that Passion of the Christ was not about condemning Jews. The behavior of Israel should accomplish that enough by itself. There are plenty of things wrong with Bush and his cabinet, but then again, there are plenty of things wrong with this country. The deaths in Iraq can be blamed on Bush, our military, terrorists, Bin Laden, Saddam, or anyone else in the area who expends lives to accomplish their own political gains.

Michael thanks for your comments. I just figured out why Lurker wants to keep Terri Shiavo alive....he just wants to protect his fellow braindead citizens. Anway, as Michael points out, this is A Day in the Life of the news. Just as John Lennon wrote the original from news items he read. Get it Lurker? Didn't think so.
