| Parody Written by: | Phil Alexander |
If you've ever had the feeling you're losing your audience after some (however minor) disaster, you'll relate to this one. It's kind of a true story, though in my case it had a happy ending - once I'd got the new string fitted, and the guitar tuned the gig went with a real swing :-)
I look at you all see the boredom is growing
While my guitar's being tuned
I look at the floor and my red face is glowing
Still my guitar's being tuned
I don't know why I broke a G string
I wasn't playing that loud
I don't know how it felt like a bee sting
The string went ping so hard
I look at the crowd see the restlessness brewing
While my guitar's being tuned
With every mistake I must learn what I'm doing
Still my guitar's being tuned
I don't know what you find amusing
No, not a new string G
I don't know what you were expecting
You're not respecting me
I look at you all see the fruit and veg flying
While my guitar's being tuned
Look at you all...
Still my guitar's being tuned
While my guitar's being tuned
I look at the floor and my red face is glowing
Still my guitar's being tuned
I don't know why I broke a G string
I wasn't playing that loud
I don't know how it felt like a bee sting
The string went ping so hard
I look at the crowd see the restlessness brewing
While my guitar's being tuned
With every mistake I must learn what I'm doing
Still my guitar's being tuned
I don't know what you find amusing
No, not a new string G
I don't know what you were expecting
You're not respecting me
I look at you all see the fruit and veg flying
While my guitar's being tuned
Look at you all...
Still my guitar's being tuned

I just love Beatles parodies, Phil.
OK, Peregrin - which Beatles tune do you think I ought to do next?
Try all of them. It's a real challenge. Especially Revolution #9 By the way, loud and hard, while good in sex, don't rhyme like the original. Great idea though. I've been there.
