The Lyrics

Since the 80's I have gotten, just a, lil' bit fatter
But back in those days, was nobody badder
At local dance contests, always came out ahead
I had an award shelf above my bed
I rocked the place to "Can't Get No Satisfaction"
I sure had the spark, I was the main attraction

When I made a visit to the local retro bar
I could barely think, I was a shining rock star
Jukebox played "Beat It" and it rang in my head
And when I came to I was stuck here, in this bed
I thought I could dance just like Michael Jackson
When I did the moonwalk, I ended up in traction

Yes, that old moonwalk, geez Louise!
Some more common sense is-a what I need
That cute young thing was a big distraction
When I tried to moonwalk, I ended up in traction

I heard from the doc I had bumped on a table
Then I tripped and shambled, moved like a rabid old pitbull
I look back on this, it is perfectly clear
I should not, have had that, last mug of beer
Guess I was lucky to have no limb subtraction
When I tried to moonwalk and ended up in traction

It was all my fault--my 40s!
That clumsy dancing just-a made me bleed
I guess you could say I'm not in the dance faction
When I tried to moonwalk, I ended up in traction

So let's end the talk
No thought redaction
If you're inebriated, if but just a small fraction
Then you should not moonwalk, you'll end up in traction
Or at least, muscular contraction
If you're a little drunk...just stay out of action!

I can't dance either but it usually doesn't end up this badly

one thing you marked the date for the OS as being the 2010's that is wrong it was from the 1990's and was even one of TK's first singles that said good parody of a great song you can dance to... or not 5's

Touche. The YouTube I referenced for pacing said it was released on Hope On The Rocks in 2012. Despite my ignorance, rating as a Decade Policeman is still considered poor sportsmanship here.

^ ah I see in that case my apologies Agrimorfee I'm not sure why Youtube says it's from that album but I've noticed a few of his other older songs that also say they are from that album in my personal opinion (and alot of others apparently) songs like the one you parodied here are of higher quality than what Mr. Keith releases today

Never heard the OS before, but you seemed to hit the pacing pretty well. I don't know how exactly you would get injured doing the moonwalk, but I think that adds to the humor of the spoof. Great work!

(Artistry) Pretty silly. Wish it was a little longer though. However, who dances to "Can't Get No Satisfaction"? I wouldn't consider that a very dance-y tune, but to each his own. Good work, simpe yet fun. And I liked the use of the word traction in this one.

One small step...one giant leap for mankind.

(Artistry) Interesting idea, but not a lot done with it. Maybe it's the short-ish song, but I found it a bit repetitive, with not much of a payoff after the set-up. Well-written, 555 for that at least, but could've been a lot better, IMO.
