The Lyrics
After many years of being told that the drone strikes in West Pakistan in the tribal areas has killed many Al Qaida senior commanders and is a successful program, newly released data suggests otherwise. In fact, the vast majority of these drone strikes only seem to kill innocent Paki civilians with an occasional successful killing of a senior or sub-commander of Al Qaida. The drones are primitive first Gen Predators and Reapers that fire Hellfire missiles. They are excellent for surveillance and infantry support, but the "Nintendo Jockeys" that operate them hundreds of miles away in complete safety have no regard for the lives they take on orders from the CIA. Intel from the sky needs to be compared with Intel on the ground for complete accuracy, but this is not the case. That is why the USAF is taking away control of the drones from the CIA and no new medal is being created for the operators since they never face real combat on any battlefield. The US public has been lied to yet again and I pointed this out on my NG years ago and took heavy flak for it. I was proven right once again. Since Pakistan is a "frenemy" of the US that harbors terrorists on its western border with Afghanistan, WHY use drones to fight the anti-terror war at all if they have low success rates? Why not just use B-52H bombers and carpet-bomb the entire region creating a dead zone? So far, there have been few "surgical" strikes after so many years. Collateral damage is appalling and is increasingly being made public.
