The Lyrics

Part of my "50 Shades of Pop" self-challenge. Dude's got memory problems.
Dunno much, see
I cannot recall a lot of stuff, a huge hindrance to me
Cause my brain is much like a sie-ieve
If all of the holes could let in tru-ucks
The usefulness i-is fleeting
But no-o-o-o, you can't help me
There's no smart trick for retrieving long-ago-lost memories
Out there that will work for me-e
No flash cards or a catchy song or a slap across my cheeks
So you can call me-e a nu-umbnu-u-u-ut
Come on, say it outright

Dunno anything, can't lie-ie-ie
Forgotten more than you've learned, ri-i-i-ight
Don't you da-are say sorry-y-y, I'm well aware I'm a-a dunce
Doesn't mean I-I'm not smart i-i-in diff'rent wa-ays, though-ough
Dunno lots of things, mi-i-i-i-ind
Don't think I need these facts, no lie-ie-ie-ie
Got no nee-eed to worry-y-y 'bout what I fo-orgot
Cause it don't matter, not really-y-y
Gulf between bei-ing smart and a do-o-ork

Dunno, that is true
But I've still picked up a lot of really helpful things as habits
May not make much se-ense
Have you ever heard of what's called "book smarts"
Versus "street smarts", it's a thing
And I kinda-a tend to rely o-o-o-on
The latter a-a-all the time

I dunno much but I take pri-i-i-i-ide (I take pride)
In not wasting all of my ti-i-i-ime (all my time)
Memori-ising pointle-e-ess minutiae because i-it's dumb
Though not faili-ing my classe-e-es would be ni-ice, though-ough
Dunno facts, I can't lie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie-ie (I can't lie)
Giant lists I can't memori-ise (I've tried)
An odd di-ichotomy-y-y, tears my brain a-apart
Short term it matters, yes really-y-y
But long term it wi-ill remain a bo-o-ore (ah, ah, ah, ah)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Such a bo-ore (ah, ah, ah, ah)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
Total bo-ore (ah, ah, ah, ah)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)
What a bo-o-o-o-ore (ah, ah, ah, ah)
And a cho-ore (ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh)

Dunno how I'll get through li-i-i-i-ife (get through life)
Without these facts, they multiply-y-y-y-y-y (multiply)
Still such poi-ointless nonse-e-ense, no wonder I'm such a-a dunce
At least a du-unce on pape-e-er, that much I-I kno-ow
Dunno how that works, mi-i-i-i-i-i-i-ind (that works, mind)
I blame these tests so standardi-ised (that's right)
Drilling the-ese facts in you-ou-ou, no point they i-impart
They do not matter, yes really-y-y
It's not me bei-ing bitter at a-a-all

I have honestly forgotten nearly everything I learned in school. I can sure remember the names of every Transformer I own and every song in every United State of Pop. I like to say I have a vast repository of entirely useless information.
