Parody Song Title:

"Depression Pills"

Parody Written by:

Billy Boyd

Now, just in case anyone reads this, and think I'm making light of a serious subject, I should point out that I have suffered with depression myself, and have been in therapy and on meds for it. Some of the stuff in this parody is fiction, however.
How I grew up was a big disgrace
My father drank and kicked my ass
my mother hooked and was on crack,
had no friends 'cause of my f'd up family
I got beat up all the way through school
and no girl ever wanted me
My world is grey, I ain't nobody
my life is just a lost cause

Depression pills, that's what I need to take?
(Happy? Happy?) If I take these depression pills?
Depression pills, and something for my anxiety
(What me? Worry?) Doc, give me depression pills

Look at all these cutting scars that's underneath my sweater sleeve
'cause when I recall everything, that's when it's time for me to bleed
I wanna live a life not sad, oh, is there such a thing?
Or should I just jump in a pool, and drown my misery?

Depression pills, that's what I need to take?
(Happy? Happy?) If I take these depression pills?
Depression pills, and something for my anxiety
(What me? Worry?) Doc, give me depression pills

The truth is...I deserve a chance
It was something I was born into, and it was not my fault
No, it's not, and I can talk about it to you every month on the first Monday
Now, I try to enjoy my life, and let the pain fade

Depression pills, that's what I needed to take
(Happy! Happy!) 'Cause now, I take depression pills
I've begun to heal, and I even have less anxiety
(What me? Worry?) Thanks to therapy and pills

Depression pills
Depression pills
Yeah
Depression pills
Depression pills
(Happy!)
Takin' my depression pills
Actually, it's anti-depression pills I'm talking about, but that wouldn't fit in with the pacing of the song.

I was afraid this was going to be too depressing, but the lyrics really work with the tune of "Beverly Hills." 555
