Song Parodies -> Noisy Drummer

Original Song Title:

"Boys of Summer"

Original Performer:

The Ataris/Don Henley

Parody Song Title:

"Noisy Drummer"

Parody Written by:

Ethan Mawyer

Don Henley did the original and the Ataris are a band that recently released a much louder version of Don's song (like what alien ant farm did with "smooth criminal")
He woke me up today
When it was just 6:10
He thinks he's Ringo Starr
But he is more like Ken
Though he makes, lots of noise
He's not made for success
He's good at being loud
But at music he's hopeless

I can't hear you,
His loud din's drowning out your speech
You've got laryngitis; shouting is out of reach for you
Since you can't yell you, will have to tell me what you want
To when the noisy drummer is gone

I don't know how he got in here
I really wish he would leave
He's trapped us in our own apartment
We're really far above the street
Is he symbolic of the clashes we might face?
When I start thinking things like that
It means I really must go someplace

I can't hear you,
His loud din's drowning out your voice
We both have places to go, but to stay is our only choice
Since you can't yell you, will have to tell me what you want
To when the noisy drummer is gone

He's by the phone oh yay now there is no way that we can call up the cops
It seems we're out of notepads and our laptop is a broken laptop
I'm getting quite a headache
My throat hurts too
I'm getting really bored here
Wish I could talk to you but

I can't hear you
His loud din's drowning out your speech
You cannot talk too loud since your voice is so weak, lately
Since you can't yell you, will have to tell me what you want
To when the noisy drummer is gone

Hope he leaves soon
His loudness makes me really mad
I think I'm going deaf, and that is really bad, plainly
You can't yell so, You'll have to tell me what you want
To when the noisy drummer is gone

You've ensnared me with this. I really got a kick out of it. It's rife with cymbalism. It can't be beat! Just thought I'd get those in first.

(ABC) Well, now that Rick D's used-up all the drum puns, I guess I'm left with a tabla rasa. Well done, Ethan, clean (as always) and clever. 5-5-5

That is really great!

By the way, Rick D forgot to give himself rimshots for all those wonderfully bad puns, so:

ba-dum-pum-[*crash*]!

It's rather good, Ethan. I SAID IT'S RATHER GOOD, ETHAN. WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU CAN'T HEAR ME?

(ABC) I know how that feels. This one time when I was six, I went to a concert that was so loud, I had to get corrective surgery in my ears. But anyway, clean and funny parodies should get fives.
