This song is dedicated to my "little girl", the 180 lbs. mastiff, Joni. She is so cute; very playful and friendly -- sometimes a little too friendly around little kids and smaller dogs, esp. considering her size. There is a Cesar commercial (for the dog food, not the pizza) that I think exemplifies Joni; it shows a bunch of large breed dogs acting like "little Cesar" dogs. Joni, too, acts like a smaller dog: loves getting attention and sometimes tries to crawl into your lap (my favorite picture is her being a "lap dog"). A while back, a toe on her back paw got infected, and so had to be amputated. As it was healing, she kept trying to pick at the wound, which made the healing process take longer. Because of this, she has to wear the "Cone of Shame", using Pixar's quote from the movie "Up!". Thus the inspiration for the "round thing" that she wears. Sorry for all of the inside references; hopefully more of the general public aside from my friends and family that have seen her will appreciate the humor in this song.
