The Lyrics

An object lesson in why you should research your new domicile before you move in...
I bought
A brand new house today
Quite far away
From my old neighbourhood
Ate it up
From the fancy-lookin' picture
Did I make a mistake?
Gotta say, I'm quite shook
I don't know
How I had missed this "feature", no
'Neath my toes
There's this constant, unendin' groan
Sends a chill straight through my bones

It's so rickety
Ev'ry door needs oilin' up
Feels "horror movie"
Expectin' Mike Meyers to show
Oh, seriously
No matter what my pace becomes
Some part of this house is groanin'
Like some b-film pulp
Goin' crazy from this moanin'
Followed by my gulps

Go slow
Try to avoid the groans
My confidence was shook
With the first step I took
Should've known
The price I paid was weirdly low
Didn't go
To house inspections like a dope
Only one to blame, I know

It's so rickety
Ev'ry floorboard's actin' up
Like some cheap movie
I'm hopin' that no zombies show
Oh, seriously
I can't just mark each place, you dunce
Ev'ry place in here is groanin'
Wigs me out a ton

It's so rickety
Realtor never brought this up
Otherwise I'm pleased
With my new house, don't think I'll go
Oh, seriously
It's perfectly located, bud
Near the shops and fast food options
I don't think I'll budge
Movin' back is not an option
Old neighbourhood sucked
I don't have to deal with lots of
Tiny crawlin' bugs
And my neighbours were all arseholes
Wouldn't help me much
Still, this creakin', I will stop it
Before I go nuts

I came up with the idea of "yeah, it's creaky as shit but at least it's not where I used to live" before I remembered that yesterday's parody was about a neighbourhood that sucked. A Stealth Sequel so stealthy even I didn't realise it!

Awesome job T-Cop!! I loved your tale of buyer’s remorse. I hope you can stick around. My parody for next week has a very “You” type of feel to it and you should check it out. You don’t HAVE to write to read it I guess but it would be nice to see you join us with great parodies like this one every week.

Echoing Matty, here. Too bad your house buyer never could figure out a solution to the problem...perhaps it was mice? :)

Really good house music here!

It kinda wigs me out that I wasn't already familiar with the term wig out - sooo useful! :-)
