The Lyrics

On your table is every plate
Tuna and pike and some turkey baked
You’ll be stuffed but you’ll still eat
You’ll chow down this Thanksgiving

This is Thanksgiving, This is Thanksgiving
Some ice cream for dessert, Delight!
This is Thanksgiving nobody touched lima beans
Pick your meat: Is it sausage, ham or pork you’ll like
Each food noun here has made its scene
Don’t freak out its Thanksgiving!

There is a knife sticking in me I’m bread
I’m unarmed but still butter is spread

In your fruit salad hides apples and pears
With forks I’m shanked but I could hardly care

This is Thanksgiving! This is Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

You’ll chow down… We won’t moan
We’re all impaled by spork’s metal prongs
Don’t freak out though we’re singing now
Everyone’s hungry for the pumpkin pie!

Grab that butter and spread it on your canned Spam
Your food’s dancing like in “Beauty and the Beast”
This is Thanksgiving, You can blame that Absinthe drink
Lemons square dance with the limes

Won’t say “Ouch” we won’t whine
Grab a yam and take a bite
Slup down the soup we won’t try to fight
Now it’s time to eat! Now it’s time to eat!
On this day it’s Thanksgiving!!!!

I am the trout that will flop on your plate
In the gravy I’ll splash or maybe your champagne

I am the brew that can sing like Cher

I am the gin who will curse and swear

I’m the potato and it is my fright
To wind up mashed so I’m taking flight

This is Thanksgiving, This is Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving

Dubstep dumplings has the bass blare
Ska punk buns add trumpet fanfare
We’ll be globs in your belly
You’ll chow down its Thanksgiving!

On this day you’ll be a fat cow
Fry up some bacon and some curly fries

Musical snacks? Might think you’re going whack
Don’t scream it’s just whimsy
Bouncing roast beef makes you grin!
This is Thanksgiving! Everybody eat!
Won’t you please calm down there’s nothing that wrong with your mind

So relax and put on some stretchy pants
Food you’ll inhale cause it’s Turkey Day now!

This is Thanksgiving! This is Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

You’ll chow down… Your mouth foams
Hearing us wail makes you toss your bong

La, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la… FOOD!!!!

Is this part of your All Holidays Parody project that I seem to vaguely remember something about or is it a food parody with an anchor point in the calendar? If it's the former I'd like to see how you'll get March 14 through the censors:

Peter: This was for the Marilyn Manson round and I've been wanting to do a parody of this song about Thanksgiving and having food come to life and start singing for awhile now. I've never got around to it and now it just seemed to flow naturally. I was thinking about doing the entire Nightmare Before Christmas album about holidays other than Christmas and Halloween but that was only a fleeting idea.

You made this wonderfully creepy as well as funny! Hope that your proposed holiday project can get off the ground h this one done (put a fork in it! :))!

Wow, you have far more meat/fish choices at your Thanksgiving than I do! Nice title sub.

This follows the original very well! The foreboding music really adds to the comic effect. Your personifications were quite vivid. I can imagine all of the foods you describe (I picture them with sharp teeth). Well done; and I'm not talking about the turkey. Favorite line: "Lemons square dance with the limes."

Jeff: "What can I say other than: She loves meat, She loves meat, It's my ladies' favorite treat!" Thanks everybody Happy Thanksgiving!!!

(Artistry) If that ever happened to me I'd know I was dreaming or high on something. Why would an Australian (still in Australia) celebrate Thanksgiving? Oh, and the singing food would be a hint. Delicious parody, really hit the spot! 555!

Nice work! Never heard the Manson cover of the song before but your story seemed to follow the music perfectly, nice job!

(Artistry) Food that talks? You've been hanging around Disney way too long. I hope next time I'm at Disney's Boardwalk I find ska punk buns playing a trumpet fanfare. Wildly imaginative.

Very fun wordplay and food dances in here, Matt. I can always support a good Thanksgiving parody, which this is. 'Dubstep dumplings has the bass blare/Ska punk buns add trumpet fanfare' is by far my favorite couplet.

I can never claim to be a fan of Thanksgiving parodies this time of year, but damn this one was good so I'll make an exception. . .totally caught me by surprise---I was not expecting you to catch the original feeling so well with the parody. . .though it may be difficult to ever pull of a recording of it giving its novelty status, it'd be really cool to hear done.

(Artistry) Wow! That's quite a hellacious smorgasbord you got there! This was fantastic. It combined my love of food, dark undertones with my loving nostalgia of The Nightmare Before Christmas! LOVE, LOVE, LOVED it! 555 Demonic Thanksgivings to come!
