The Lyrics

I'm not referring to Bluff, the Southern town in New Zealand. I've never been there.

It is about bluffing in poker. I had been blessed with great hands in a recent online poker game, but things don't go well towards the end. Should I bluff, or should I fold when the cards are bad? The eternal question.
Poker is a funny little game
Can't deny the joy it brings
A full house with double kings
Dream flush hand when the river came

But your luck will never last for weeks
And you could squander all your chips
If cards will never leave the line (meaning a fold)
It may haunt you every time

The trouble with bluff is
You don't know what cards they hide
Then you learn to tell a lie
Right or wrong, it hurts your pride

The trouble with bluff is
The experts knew you've hit the wall
But can you refuse to call
When the chips' are on the floor?

Well I thought I was cool
It's true
I played it so I never lose
But now they think I'm such a noob
I'm mad, at least a miser ruled

I swore I'll never bluff again
I swore I'd rather fold the hand
Said all-in is too much pain
But cards just tripled up again...

The trouble with bluff is
You don't know what cards they hide
Then you learn to tell a lie
Right or wrong, it hurts your pride

The trouble with bluff is
The experts knew you've hit the wall
But can you refuse to call
When the chips' are on the floor?

Every time I fold my cards
I never got it all figured out
Bluffing or folding, yet I kept on winning [Sometimes, knowing the river card will come to save your stinky hand, or knowing you could've won with a better hand than the winner of the hand is also bad]
Over and over again

This sad story starts to end the same
Losing the chips I have ever had [As blinds rise, you could lose all your chips just for paying the blinds, especially true in heads-up play]
It seems no matter what I do
I tears my heart in two

The trouble with bluff is
You don't know what card they hide
Then you learn to tell a lie
Right or wrong, it hurts your pride

The trouble with bluff is (what's the next card, you'd never know)
The experts knew you've hit the wall (You're losing your control)
But can you refuse to call
When the chips' are on the floor?

The trouble with bluff is (Oh, yeah)
You don't know what card they hide
Then you learn to tell a lie...
