The Lyrics

I've never broken a bone in my life. This guy wasn't so lucky...
I got a broken back (Ow!)
Because my shades were just too damn black (Damn!)
Walked on the street, there came a truck then SMACK! (Ouch!)
So that is why my back is oh so cracked (Ow!)

Lyin' on the road!

Hey you there!
Why can't you see that I'm in need of care?
I just got run over in Hindmarsh Square
Please help me up before I start to swear

Take me to the ER!

You the nurse?
(Need more anaesthetic)
I broke my cast
(Need more anaesthetic)
Now I see
(Need more anaesthetic)
My chest bleed
(Need more anaesthetic)
And I need some more paper towels
(Need more anaesthetic)
Look at my lips
(Need more anaesthetic)
Just cannot smile
(Need more anaesthetic)
The pain ain't mild
(Need more anaesthetic)

Now fix my broken back
(Need more anaesthetic)
And my broken leg
(Need more anaesthetic)
And my broken arm
(Need more anaesthetic)
AAnd my broken neck
(Need more anaesthetic)
And my broken head
(Need more anaesthetic)
And my broken hip
(Need more anaesthetic)
And my broken nose
(Need more anaesthetic)
All my broken bones

I broke my back again (Ow!)
Five minutes since I left the Ward For Men (Damn!)
I walked into the ambulance's lane (Ouch!)
One came 'round the corner, and I'm in such pain (Ow!)

Back in here again!

It's not fair
'Cause once again I'm stuck in a wheelchair
Casts ev'rywhere except my face and hair
It takes too long for my bones to repair

Please just take me home now!

What was that?
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
You wanna what?
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign my cast?
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Be my guest
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Don't be long, 'cause there is a line
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Write what you want
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Name will do fine
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Or a quick line
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)

Sign your name anywhere
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my leg
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my arm
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my hip
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my chest
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my back
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Sign it on my gut
(I'm wrapped up in plaster)
Don't you dare say 'But...'!

I'm now out of my cast (Yay!)
That's now the seventh time I've broke my back (Ow!)
And all the other bones that you can crack (Ouch!)
Guess it won't be long before I hit a Mac (Truck!)

"LOOK OUT FOR THAT SCHOOL BUS!"

Thank you, man
(That bus nearly hit me)
I'm sick of this
(It's getting really old)
Being smashed
(It's getting really old)
Wrapped in casts
(It's getting really old)
I am bored of the hospital
(It's getting really old)
Sick of this bed
(It's getting really old)
That bus is back
(It's getting really old)
Guess who got smacked?
(It's getting really old)

I'm back in here again
(It's getting really old)
Back in this old bed
(It's getting really old)
'Cause I broke my head
(It's getting really old)
Least I got cable
(This ain't so bad, is it?)
And the food tastes great
(This ain't so bad, is it?)
Nurses are so nice
(This ain't so bad, is it?)
Doctors give advice
(This ain't so bad, is it?)
Yes, this will suffice!
That guy got about as much warning as the rest of us get. What the rest of us get is "Mind that bus" "What bus?" SPLAT?

Big effort here, bobpie. And I was sure this was going to be about gay cowboys....555

I hate the original song -- I'm still waiting for somebody to write "I Want My MoneyBack" -- and I also thought it was gonna be about "Brokeback Mountain." But, as the author of "Aching Back," I approve.

Awesome job, and yeah I thought it was gonna be about Brokeback Mountain to, still great 555

Michael: Someone has written 'MoneyBack' and that person is Insert Coin(s) To Continue (formerly known as iisryan). He's also recorded it. Here's the link: www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/justintimberlake47.shtml

Not only DID somebody write "MoneyBack," but it's got one comment on it, and it's mine! And I totally forgot about it! In the words of the immortal John Ritter, "I'm SO ashamed!"

Actually, MS--never seen the movie, didn't really interest me, very few movies do, but it's well known--and is often a topic, and thus when going through parodies of songs I knew, just like the others who reviewed it, that's what it appeared to be about--

SOTM - I've somehow managed to avoid TOS up until now, and I must say that my life has been better for it, it was so horrible that I almost got spasms, fell over and broke my back.
Agrimorfee - January 10, 2007 - Report this comment
(SOTM) High insurance premiums for this poor fella! I liked the call and response on the choruses (monotonous in a good way).

(SOTM) Too bad it wasn't about Brokeback Mountain. Oh well... maybe next time, I guess... not that I want to hear TOS again anytime soon. But I still tought your parody was funny, although TOS went too fast. Great job! 555
Below Average Dave - January 15, 2007 - Report this comment
SOTM--This is one of those where hearing the parody would have helped, I was able to sing along for the most part, I've already commented on it, but that wasn't my SOTM comment--so here goes. . .It's hilarious, and very creative (especially considering the original song wasn't. Justing might be a Broke Back Mountain kinda guy, but the parody probably wouldn't have worked with that kind of theme, you did pretty well with this.
bobpiecheese - January 24, 2007 - Report this comment
Nothing but 555's! I'm happy.

Kristof: I told my mum about this, and she also thought it was about that movie! She was, of course, quite worried.

Michael: Everyone makes mistakes.

Jack: That's good to hear.

Not-Quite-So-Below-Average-In-My-Opinion-Dave: First comment - thank you. Second comment - That reminds me to be ready for mentions of Brokeback Mountain. Third comment - One day I shall record my parodies...I just need to somehow get backing tracks.

Movie Sucks: I thought you were talkin' to me for a second there! And I was afraid that it would garner me a 111! Close call!

Peter: I didn't think it was that bad.

Agri: Monotonous in a good way, eh? That's a new one.

Max: I think that's the first comment of you on one of my works that wasn't 'alright' or 'good'...which means something, I'm sure of it.

Chris: That somehow makes me want to make plans for a parody about that movie...but I don't want to. It's just too weird for me...and that's sayin' somethin =)

Thank you:) Well any songs I record I keep-so if you've done any of them, let me know, I'll send you the backing tracks I used, most of them aren't half bad. . .just let me know.

(SOTM) Very good job, pieman. Your rhyming was excellent, and this was much more creative and funny than TOS: big points for that. 5s. I'm glad this wasn't about BBM as I never saw the movie.

(SOTM) At least this parody was good, after having to listen to that awful OS! It looks like your narrator better drink his milk if he doesn't want to break any more bones...but I must ask, regarding "And the food tastes great," what hospital have YOU been in lately? =P

(Recording) Really excellent pacing here, pieman, and while the parenthetical words are correct by syllable count to TOS, I had an easier time singing them with the first word gone, e.g., "more anaesthetic". Completeness is there, the format is great, it's funny and better than TOS - a good candidate for a recording.
