Well my dads gone crazy, I just know he's lost it
I tried to get sleep, but I'm just so darn exhausted
He told us all to pack
He said we're going to relax
So then our family went out
I guess we're gonna be tested
And "Nothing's going to stop us from enjoying this vaction"
But I guess my only concern is when we all return
But I can't take my dad's loud snores, no more
The not-so-great outdoors
We're sitting round the fire and dad can't see
That every one of us, we all agree
None of us are having any fun, fun, fun, fun
I miss all my fun stuff, all the fun stuff that I did not bring
Man I hate my family
And it's my God-forsaken right to have fun, fun, fun, fun, fun
So I can't take this anymore, no more
I cannot wait, I'm bored
I can't sleep in sleeping bags
I need support
The not-so-great outdoors
Outside my tent I see a deer
And he's nibbling my ear
I just really want to leave, that day getting any nearer?
I'm on my hands and knees just trying to make it clearer
"I will eat some broken glass"
But my dad just stood there and he laughed
My dad stood there with a smile and said "Ok, guess we're leavin'
I thought that I'd give up, but my ears could hardly believe it
From our backyard now into
Our awesome living room
So we moved twenty feet indoors, no more
The not-so-great outdoors
Well I go back to my room and I see
My computer games and PS3
I'm glad to be inside and not in the lame outdoors
So please don't, please don't, please don't
Don't make me very irate
Thats my last resort
I would really much rather stay indoors
I tried to get sleep, but I'm just so darn exhausted
He told us all to pack
He said we're going to relax
So then our family went out
I guess we're gonna be tested
And "Nothing's going to stop us from enjoying this vaction"

SOTM: I echo all comment above, especially Mark's. Great job on a oh-so-true subject, and good OS choice. 555
SOTM - I reitierate my comment above, and it even got better on my second read...

Abbott - This parody lends a whole new meaning to the word "Campaign". Decent write about a favorite activity of mine.

I'd figure that someone who likes Indie would like the outdoors too, but maybe it's a beard thingy? :-)=
Good job. As the snoring dad, I think I need to take my family out on a camping trip. There were a couple of places that I couldn't quite get the pacing to work but that may just be my first-time hearing the song. Not enough to knock it.
I've been camping a million times, and I agree that the dad snoring bit really sucks... Been there done that got the T-Shirt.
(SOTM) Voted and commented above and my opinion remains the same!!!
(SOTM) I've never been camping, and I sure as hell don't plan to, my computer chair's too comfy. 555 for you!
Fun little parody Abbott:) Jason Mraz is one of those rare artists of the 2000s decade that I really do like, namely because he actually has talent. Bordem is a topic I'm VERY familiar with, good job
I wish Mraz had been singing these words instead.. "bored" was a very good description of how the OS made me feel. But I can relate to this (from a dad's perspective), in that I have two sons, one of which loves this kind of camping trip, the other has always chosen not to go.. and I'm not the kind of dad to force this kind of boredom on my children :-)
