The Lyrics

Sometimes the best way to make fun of a stupid original song is to write a parody that's even more ridiculous. But sometimes it's better to make it more sincere than the original. This is about the woman I'm still hung up on. Get it? Phone commercials, hung up?
I think I'm brilliant.

I think I'm brilliant.
But not mature.
She's still my angel.
One I can't lure.
Her phone ads on the subway.
But she's still with that man.
Waiting for him to die has proved
a lousy plan.

She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
It's true!
Her sweet Welsh face
her style and grace
they still make me oh-so-blue.
Cathy, I won't be with you!

I caught some Z's
in my dreams she'll please
but when I awake I see
it's just a tease.
The price to see her "Zorro" films
I hardly can afford.
The only Z's she'll give me
come from point of sword.

She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
It's true!
Her sweet Welsh face
her style and grace
they still make me oh-so-blue.
Cathy, I won't be with you!

La-da-da-da-da-da
la-da-da-da-da-da
la-da-da, da, dahhhh...

She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
She's beautiful!
It's true!
My forever angel
has a smile on her face
but doesn't know my love is true!

So it's time to face the truth:
Cathy, I won't be with you!
This parody is brought to you by Kleenex tissues and Johnson & Johnson's "No More Tears" shampoo. For all the good THAT does me!

Ah Michael...I too have had that hopeless feeling knowing you'll never have your celebrity crush yet still lusting like a maniac over them. That's what daydreams are for....(or maybe I could help you poison Michael Douglas if you help me poison Paulina Porizkova, do we have a deal?)
Michael Pacholek - July 02, 2006 - Report this comment
We do not have a deal. I loved Paulina long before I ever hear of Z-Jo. If their respective husbands both shuffle off this mortal coil around the same time -- by whatever means -- it's just a matter of which one I can get to first! Of course, you should've identified yourself as something other than "Cat," because some women named Catherine have gone by "Cat"... and I would prefer that "The Night They Fight O'er Me, They're Gorgeous" to remain just a song!

Durr, you drive a hard bargain...you can take her and do with her as you wish for all I care, you could perhaps start up a little harem. All I want is my Ocasek. (and mention his dying ever again and you are ASKING for it buddy, I don't have these claws for nothing.)
