Song Parodies -> Barack Obama Funny Name
| Original Song Title: | "Barack Obama Irish Song" |
| Original Performer: | Hardy Drew & The Nancy Boys |
| Parody Song Title: | "Barack Obama Funny Name" |
| Parody Written by: | Steve Kalafut |
Based on this OS, and then-Senator Obama's warning that Senator McCain's campaign would say that "he' got a funny name". As far as I know, no McCain campaigners ever said such a thing. On the other hand, I can relate somewhat to that "funny name" stuff.
Apollo, Athena, Commander Adama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
You don’t believe me, please don’t get mad
But Barack is Kenyan, because of his dad
He’s already known for rhetorical skills
Don’t look like those old men, on our dollar bills
Hussein, Hussein, bin Laden Osama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
He’s as funny as haggis, and mulligan stew
Chicken curry, polenta, arugula, too
He’s in the White House, that’s not a gaffe
We could say Barack had the last laugh
Hussein, Hussein, bin Laden Osama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
There’s Kerry, Dukakis, Kennedy, too
Let’s hear it for Barack from Honolulu
From the broad Serengetti, to Kilimanjaro
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
Apollo, Athena, Commander Adama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
From the Zanzibar isle, to the wild Masai Mara
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
A town in Japan that shares Barry’s name
And in this brief moment, they’ll share in his fame
They’re walking the stairway to climb Fujiyama
And cheering for president Barack Obama
Apollo, Athena, Commander Adama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
The hockey mom’s gone, but Palin’s her name
One of Monty Python, his last name’s the same
In Bharat they have both Krishna and Rama
But nobody sounds quite like Barack Obama
Hussein, Hussein, bin Laden Osama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
If you’re a Wasp, and live on Cape Cod
You’ll think that Barack might sound a bit odd
How, may I ask, should this be put?
His name is stranger than "Steve Kalafut"
Apollo, Athena, Commander Adama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama [repeat]
Hussein, Hussein, bin Laden Osama
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama [repeat]
There’s no name as funny as Barack Obama
You don’t believe me, please don’t get mad

First of all, thanks for turning me on to a terrific OS (which is based on Sweet Betsy from Pike, unless there's another folk song that precedes that!). Second, your parody was very easy to follow for a song I didn't know before tonight. 5-5-5!
