The Lyrics

Original Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvtz8P0AMHg
So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

So easy to parody
Throw in some comedy
And add a bunch of words that sound alike

Like their song 'Minority'
Easy to parody
And what rhymes with 'Minority' right here?

No need for a jury
A blind toddler could see
It's so easy to parody Green Day

So easy to parody
And everyone agrees
The rhyme scheme is as lively as Bob Dole

Since this is my specialty
There was no urgency
This song took hardly any time at all

So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

Just give Green Day some time
And their album sales will rise
And this song will be played live
All the time

*Longer guitar solo*

We're halfway through this parody
Of the song "Know Your Enemy"
No originality
Must fill all this empty space
So give me one meaningless solo

*Smaller guitar solo*

So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

So easy to parody
Easy to parody
It's so easy to parody Green Day

Write this song a eulogy
It has been parodied
Another for Green Day, I'm on a roll

Always watching out to see
Which songs to parody
So until next time, I'll be on patrol

it doesnt ryhme or make sense this quite frankly and quite bluntly is un understandable
Cody Slusher - May 27, 2009 - Report this comment
It was alright. I loved it.Keep it up

It was an okay effort, pacing sounded right, but I didn't think it was very sensical, which can be funny, but in this case wasn't very. 523.

SOTM: Funny effort. interesting concept...
Agrimorfee - June 12, 2009 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I liked it, along the realm of Al's "This Song's Six Words Long". It's a great album, but all the weaker songs are the ones being played on the radio.

(SOTM) You did so much with so little effort. This song is easy to parody, it looks like, but it is hard to find a decent YouTube video of the song because of the enemy WMG. Green Day is back and everybody's on the parody bandwagon! 555

It's a good OS but it offers way too little to work with, I tried with "use an enema" the other day but ended up with mental scybala and flushed the whole after fifteen minutes.
Matthias - June 26, 2009 - Report this comment
I actually love the original song, and I don't agree with you on how easy it is to parody Green Day take on "Jesus Of Suburbia" and come back to me.
bobpiecheese - June 29, 2009 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Interesting idea, but it got repetitive after a while. And I agree with Matthias, 'Jesus Of Suburbia' is a biatch, and only partly due to length.

Thanks everyone for your comments!! And I actually have parodied "Jesus of Suburbia" http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/greenday302.shtml

SOTM...well now I feel like a real idiot for never parodying Green Day. If they're so easy, what's my problem? ; )
EmiLoca - June 30, 2009 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Hahaha. I'm not sure if your SOTM entry should have been a song describing how little you worked on your submission. ;-) Still pretty good, though.
Phil Alexander - June 30, 2009 - Report this comment
I was going to say pretty much exactly what EmiLoca did.. It's tough trying to be original.
Jeff Reuben - June 30, 2009 - Report this comment
SOTM: I laughed at the idea, and the repeating lines. Not bad.
Invisible Boy - June 30, 2009 - Report this comment
I found the minimalism strangely refreshing. Good job !

(SOTM) I have parodied Jesus of Suburbia, didn't find it particularly hard, Minority is my 'Priority" working on getting a backing track done, I've hit about 12 or 13 Green Day songs, and recorded over half of them. . .they are easy to parody. The idea was good, got repetitive, and you should check out "Know You Enema" - - I've gotta do this song still myself, I'm sure Matty is waiting on it, not bad. . .and mostly true.
Julezzz - July 23, 2009 - Report this comment
ok this is rude and annoying. if ya don't like green day, then get off this site
