The Lyrics

Okay, the title ain't that great, but my choruses change so much I couldn't just pick one of them, could I? I think this is my best TF-related parody so far - maybe because it isn't based on a ludicrously difficult OS.
I'm in the kids toy aisle
Searching for a figure that had just come out
And I see some kid, holding it
So I look over his shoulder
And read the blurb on the back

'Not just a car, it's a six-inch robot!'
'Not just a plane, it's an eight-inch robot!'
'Not just a tank, it's a 12-inch robot!'
3-pack Transformers are awesome, cause I pay less

I am a TransFan
And the toys I buy must be articulate
Be articulate
As much as I can
I buy the figures that I do not have yet
That I don't have yet

I search the TF sites ev'ry day
(Hey, it keeps me busy)
Look for pics of new figs that I might buy
(New Transformers out the wazoo)
And then I'm hunting for these toys, buy a lot
Even if they're just retools
Or, even r-r-r-repaints

'Not just a tank, it's a six-inch robot!'
'Not just a jet, it's an six-inch robot!'
'Not just a toy, it's a six-inch robot!'
It's just one toy - a Triple Changer!

I am a Transfan
And the toys I buy, the joints must not be loose
Joints must not be loose
Also if I can
I'll fix the toys up, and give them a new head
Give them a new head

(Instrumental break, maybe by Soundwave)

All fanboys who said Hasbro gave no love
And all the fans who are willing to accept change
Buy, until your cash runs out

We ain't insane, we are all just fanboys!
This ain't insane, we just like to buy toys!
What is insane? It's when one bot's missing
(Where is my Groove?)
What is insane? It's ev'ry year at Christmas!
(Gimme now!)
What is insane? It's ev'ry year at BotCon!
(Oh boy)
What is insane? When we cried when Prime's gone!

We are all TransFans
And we all believe the best toy ain't made yet
Best toy ain't made yet
Crazy ass Tranfans!
We can only hope we all stay out of debt
All stay out of debt!
Notes: A Triple Changer is a figure that goes from robot to 2 different alt-modes (the tank/jet/robot is Blitzwing). A retool is a figure which is a redo of a previous figure, and changing the head and/or some other aspect. A repaint is like a retool, except no changed parts, jsut new colours. Soundwave turns into a cassette player. Hasbro is the company behind Transformers. TransFan is short for Transformer Fan. Groove is one of the Protectobots that make up Defensor (thus, loosing him would have Defensor incomplete - VERY annoying). For Decathlon 2.0.

there is clearly a whole world out there that I have not even scratched the surface of, bobpie - I like the repeated line in the choruses - I take it that's on the cover of every box - 555

(Dec) Frankly, I couldn't keep up with the 'What is insane' choruses at all. Maybe it's me.

(Dec2) I got lost int he choruses. . .I think that it generally was really good as a write, I can't say I'm stunned on the choice of topic though. . .Good write, but there must be something I'm missing on the choruses.

If you hit the right button, does the parody come apart and reassemble itself as a different one?

(dec2.4) see above - still love your comic use of that repeat catchphrase, bobpie
Arwen - November 28, 2007 - Report this comment an earlier round, I divulged my love for Optimus Prime...but I have to admit that I tried once, with a friend's nephew's toy, to actually "transform" a Transformer...and I basically almost ripped my hair out...and threw my "half truck/half robot" on the table and went home. This made me smile, though...glad that some folks have the patience for the actual toys.
