| Parody Song Title: | "Old Yuppie" |
| Parody Written by: | Michael McVey |
He turned forty-five last Sunday
his hair has all turned gray
But he still wears his Rolex
He likes it better the '80s way
So he parks his BMW in the back yard by the fence
He's consuming all his money nowadays in self defense
He drives out there in the suburbs
Sometimes when it just don't make sense
He gets off on country music
Cause reggae left him cold
He's got young friends into New Age
But he still prefers the old
And he dreams at night of Reagan and '87 crash
How the money made him happy and the Soviets made him rash
Yeah he thinks of Ron sometimes
And he has to wonder why
He's an old yuppie and he don't know what to do
Should he live in the last millineum
or just adapt to the new
He's an old yuppie...his new life is just a bust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He's just trying real hard to adjust
He was sure back in the eighties he'd be filthy rich someday
Then they laid him off from IBM on his 30th birthday
They forced him to find a real job with his hair now turning gray
And in each wave of tragedy he waited for the day
That this world might change around him
And start to see things his way
He's an old yuppie and he don't know what to do
Should he live in the last millineum
or just adapt to the new
He's an old yuppie...his new life is just a bust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He's just trying real hard to adjust
Well he stays away a lot now from the fancy restaurants
And he's thinking while he's jogging 'round
How much he needs those jaunts
Cause him and his kind get bigger waistlines everyday
And he knows all the yuppies will have heart attacks someday
Just like Dr. Zhivago...just up and pass away
He's an old yuppie and he don't know what to do
Should he live in the last millineum
or just adapt to the new
He's an old yuppie...his new life is just a bust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He's just trying real hard to adjust
He ain't trying to change nobody
He's just trying real hard to adjust
