Odd Austin Aeschliman already did this!
As a fan of Odd Austin's version, I have to point out I don't think Abbott got the idea or lyrics from it because Odd Austin's is more than significantly different. Some titles come to different parodists heads, and will be executed totally different by both parodist (IE me and Jeff both did Lazy to Crazy by Britney Spears, but they are totally different Lyrics)
I did this song before Odd Austin did...if anything he stole the idea from me. He also took "Old People" (off of "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance) from Nuclear Bubble Wrap...
Alright, this is what happened as I see it. I was looking at the Billboard charts as I usually do, I saw 'Sorry' was at #9. Almost immediately Atari came into my head as a parody idea. I wrote the lyrics over a days period and then recorded it in the studio, I posted it to my MySpace page and then Abbott sent me a comment basically accusing me of stealing his song. I had no idea of his version until he told me about it. As for the Old People song, I actually found out about that one about a day before I planned to post mine to MySpace. I've said it before, and I guess I'm forced to say it again. Great minds think alike, and it isn't impossible for people to think up the same idea.
Dear Abbott, I don't know who came out with what first--what I'm saying is the execution is quite a bit different from both parodists, How often do people come with the same idea here on AmIRight? I 5'd this today in attempt to help offset a misunderstanding by Glandor. I don't think Austin stole anything from NBW, both songs came out so close together in time, and some titles are obvious for different reasons. I mean, you know if you search for "Somebody Farted" to "Let's Get it Started" on the internet you are going to get a lot of different parodies, and each one will be different. It may be coincidence that Austin came up with two ideas that others came up with also, but I know that it does happen. . .
That is true, I am guilty of this as well. For my parody of "Hey There Delilah" called "Hey Aunt Jemimah", I saw the song on here, and I thought it was a good idea so I did it as well...also with "Boulevard of Bad Hygiene"...same thing. So I guess I really have no room to talk about "stealing songs". Austin, I am truely sorry and I hope you accept my apology.
