The Lyrics

The streets of Berlin, 1945...
[Spoken]
Hallo?
Russian panzers are closing! (breaking up) ---Strasse. Intense block-by-block fights!
Advanced elements are closing!
Where are they?
What?? say... say that again
Hallo?
You're fading out, I think this field radio is going to go
Listen, if you can hear me, we're going to put up a fight, all right?
Gotta go

Let me tell you the story
About the fall that changed our destiny
Me and the HJ went out
Armed with ’fausts and MP-40s
Was about to block defend
There was a T parked in front of me
I said "Hans, let the panzerfaust fly,
Strike a blow!!!"

But then he just froze
‘Fraid of the Red Army
Then I called the Heer and said

[Chorus]
“Listen Army, we’re worried
We could use some artillery
Is it too late
To send a PAK right to our street
I say again, we’re dropping out
Our ammo’s running low
Just so you know
We're going for a second try,
Strike a blow!!!”

All back-ups are gone, nothing's been won
Loose bands on attack, the Volkssturm
All of these buildings burned out
Nowhere else to run
But still, we will not hide
Panzerfaust by my side
Just make one last call, Ja!

“Listen Army, we’re worried
We could use some artillery
Is it too late
To send a PAK right to our street
I say again, we’re dropping out
Our ammo’s running low
Just so you know
We're going for a second try,
Strike a blow!!!”

[Pzf fires- hits T-34 as another two round the corner!!!]

Let me tell you the story
About the fall that changed our destiny
Me and the HJ went out
Armed with ’fausts and MP-40s
Was about to block defend
There was a T parked in front of me
I said "Hans, let the panzerfaust fly,
Strike a blow!!!"

“Listen Army, we’re worried
We could use some artillery
Is it too late
To send a PAK right to our street
I say again, we’re dropping out
Our ammo’s running low
Just so you know
We're going for a second try,
Strike a blow!!!”

“Listen Army, we’re worried
We could use some artillery
Is it too late
To send a PAK right to our street
I say again, we’re dropping out
Our ammo’s running low
Just so you know
We're going for a second try,
I think that we’re all gonna die
Gotta go!!!”

King Tiger shows with Waffen SS in tow,
C’mon let’s go!!!

[King Tiger takes out two T-34s before being knocked out by several IS-2s from the rear,
Rain of PPSh-41 bullets cuts us down near the Tiger]

Reich blood flows…

For our daily Robs, let us truly be thankful! Check me on this, but I believe the panzerfaust designations (30, 60, 100, 150) were their ranges in meters. Either way, the panzerfausts used in Berlin were real, not a figment of Hitler's imagination like the counterattack of Felix Steiner's SS Army. ;D

Correct OMR, except that there was also the 30K model that had a smaller warhead. There also was the 250M that was prototyped that led to the RPG-2 postwar. Germans reintroduced the Panzerfaust in the '90s as Pzf-3, best medium range ATW in the world and they also have a remote version armed with 4x Pzf-3 for area denial and AT. For the Israeli Cornershot Gun they developed a mini-Pzf round!!!

OBGF Steiner's 11th Pz Arny wasn't fictional just not available to rescue Berlin. Since 2/16/45 it had attacked Zhukov's flanks but had ground to a halt after several weeks. On 4/21/45 Hitler ordered him to come to Berlin's aid and he had just 5000 LW ground troops plus some HJ to fight with, his Waffen SS troops drawn off in desperate fire-brigade duties. He stated that he couldn't move and Hitler sacked him, but he just ignored that and stayed put until surrender orders on May 7th. Berlin had just 80,000 defenders against 1.5 million Red Army troops with thousands of tanks and artillery pieces in tow. Yet the remaining Waffen SS were as stubborn as ever and so were the HJ and even some VS units. Since the first attack the entire Battle of Berlin had claimed over 600,000 Red Army lives out of 2.2 million at the start. The Reds lied for decades stating that 330,000 fell (which would be bad enough) but once the vaults were opened after 1991 the true number was shocking considering how under-strength the Germans actually were and how fierce they fought using every panzer, PAK, FLAK, panzerfaust, panzerschreck, and other arms they could find.

I've heard it claimed that the 600,000 deaths figure is accurate but that some of it was caused by a civil war between Zhukov's and Koniev's forces who fought each other for the honor of seizing the Reichstag
