The Lyrics

This is my first song parody, in which it explains the failure of Nokia's Cellphone/gaming system hybrid, the N -Gage.
"We'll beat Nintendo,"
Yeah, that's what they said.
"If you're caught with a Gameboy, you're better off dead."
Then we saw that small screen
And our poor eyes bled
"This is the product Nintendo will dread."

It had all the things I thought I'd use
But they functioned poorly

It had all the games, all the games that I wanted
But my MMC was way too small so I lost it
And not even Pocket Kingdom: Own the World could save the day
Still, the Gameboy blew it offstage
So much for my crappy N-Gage

Their sales were craptacular
So they rushed the QD
"It's a better N-Gage that can't play MP3s"
But it was too late
Soon there'd be DS
With its better games
It would be a success

It had all the things I thought I'd use
But they functioned poorly

It had all the games, all the games that I wanted
But my MMC was way too small so I lost it
And not even Pocket Kingdom: Own the World could save the day
Still, the Gameboy blew it offstage
So much for my crappy N-Gage

"9 million by 2005
Our small N-Gage will survive!"
And the Gameboy was still #1
It's too bad you could not enthrall
The one system that caused your fall
So the N-Gage was forever shunned

It had all the games, all the games that I wanted
But my MMC was way too small so I lost it
And not even Pocket Kingdom: Own the World could save the day
Still, the Gameboy blew it offstage
So much for my crappy N-Gage

It had all the games, all the games that I wanted
But my MMC was way too small so I lost it
And not even Pocket Kingdom: Own the World could save the day
Still, the Gameboy blew it offstage
So much for my crappy N-Gage

So much for my crappy N-Gage...

(SOTM AUG) Some pretty good rhyming going on here, keep up the good work.

(SOTM) I've never heard of an N-Gage but your parody was most enjoyable.

(Aug 04 SOTM) Too tech-geeky for my tastes.

Didn't get all the references. I'm sure I do that to people too.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. This is my first song parody, so I wasn't sure if it was that good.

(SOTM) DKTOS and I've never heard of the N-Gage, but it was a very good parody.

OK, I'm so out of it I suck - I didn't catch most of the references. But I gotta say that the first verse makes complete sense - even to me - and is quite lovely.

For a first parody, this is excellent - keep it up, there must be some more in there waiting to come out :-)

very fine job for a first parody

(SOTM) I liked the word craptacular! A mix of crap and spectacular. We had one like that over at Sev Trek: "Confuzzled", filling the space between being simply confused and facing something just fuzzy.

Good one for a first parody, Victor

(SOTM) Hard for me to get into the video game ones, as I just can't follow them...

(AUG SOTM) - Victor, very good job for a first parody. I'm wavering a little on pace; perfect in many places, seemed to miss in others. But I've decided to go 5-4-5, since I'm not too much on game parodies either. But a good job, nonetheless. Keep posting.

Let's see...don't know the original, don't know anything about video games, not much help to you here; sorry.

I think considering how much the majority knows about video games, it would be wrong of me not to support this fine work about a system that, unlike Xbox, can't just throw money at a problem and make it go away. Great work here, Victor.
