The Lyrics

Again, I am not sucking up to Al, this is for the Parody Decathlon, so don't even think about one-ing me!
This album's high
On the Billboard Charts
Straight Outta Lynwood is an art
Al ain't the artist type
To dissapoint all his fans
Hell no!

It's Weird Al's twelfth album
And it's his greatest yet
Chamillionaire was the first
To be par'died
Al changed "Ridin' Dirty"
Into "White a-and Nerdy"
It rocked

James Blunt said "Yes"
To "You're Pitiful"
His label went ballistical
But Al cheated
Put it on his site
That's a move that you gotta like
Pancreas
I'll Sue Ya

Polkarama had
All these top ten songs
At last Al's young fans
Knew what they were
And "Don't Download This Song"
Is ready fo-or download
Really!

Longest par'dy
by Al is on it
"Trapped In The Drive-Thru" is legit
It parodies
"Trapped In The Closet"
By R. Kelly, but exceeds it
Most banal
Thought Al had

Al had ideas for some par'dies
"Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani
"Holodeck Girl" was tossed in the bin
Like "Hairy Back" to that song by Justin*
Nearly par'died Daniel Powter's "Bad Day"
But Dan was told that he'd "missed the train"
They could've been hits, that's so true
But let's focus on what Weird Al did do

Straight Outta Lynwood
Was on a DualDisc
The problems with that
Made it a risk
Still, it's a first for Al
And plus it is region free
That's good

So go and buy
Straight Outta Lynwood
All critics belive that you should
Best album by
"Weird Al" Yankovic
Get off your ass and buy it quick

What is left there for Al to do now
Besides him taking the biggest bow
Has seven videos for Lynwood
Has two more up his sleeves, ain't that good?
All he needs his his own Walk Of Fame Star
Yes, he hasn't got one how bizarre!
But I'm sure he will get one someday
For now, listen to Weasel Stomping Day!
*As in Timberlake.
Guess which songs I missed!

I'm guessing this is a remake of Blondie's "Tide Is High" it reads that way, well done with this. This had to be one of the hardest competitions yet.

Is that true about Hollaback Girl" and Dan Powter?

Now I'm seriously thinking about buying Al's disc. However, I'd like to see some videos first. Last thing I saw him do was Amish Paradise, which had me lauging hard. 555 for the info!

Matthias - First comment reply: It is a remake of that song. Second comment reply: That's what Al said in his recent interview with the Rolling Stone.

(decath7) nice tribute to Weird Al that fits within the rules of Decath7 - don't know that much about Al, but it was well-written - 555

(DEC7) I'm kind of in agreement with tomario, bobpie....Weird Al has his moments, but Spaff (without the expensive videos and record company moolah) smokes him 9 times out of 10. Still, a well written parody. 555

Good pacing, some nice rhymes and some not so nice rhymes tohugh, still 5s

I get the AL thing...while his writing might not meet the pacing standards here, his recordings, videos, and concert ability is awesome. And, he's been an inspiration to many of us here.

Decathlon...I used to dance around the living room to this song as a kid...it's got a special place in my heart. =) And who, around these parts especially, doesn't love Al? Great job!
