The Lyrics

Yo, yo, yo, yo
Yo, yo, yo what's up
We're in Detroit
We gonna party 'cause we in Detroit
We gonna party just 'cause we're in Detroit
And you think we care where you're from
Three one three Detroit!

[Chorus x2]
We're down in Detroit just having some fun
Partying the night away over at the clubs
I forgot something at home, I left my gun
Oh my god here it goes again it's getting shot up

I pull up to the Joe to see this hockey game
When I show pride, I show my favorite players name
When I drive around the corners, all I see are some hos
When you act like Eminem, this city is like dirt holes
But homie it's like nothing has changed, hold up
I see all these crack houses on the street with boards up
If you watched eight mile then you know how this city looks
It's like where ever I go I see a gang of crooks
In the suburbs these people are just as bad
They crazy, like those kids that got killed by their dad
But back home in Saggy all my family calls me crazy
'Cause I drive in the ghettos in a new Mercedes
I'm living good man, got me a house and a car
I can go home anytime 'cause that ain't to far
Now people love it here when they stay, feeling this town
But better watch your back whenever you go downtown

[Chorus x2]

I go, I'm broke I lost my doe
Lost everything 'cause it got stole
My clothes, my car, money, lost it all
Look man I'm still wearing rags and I ain't change

You should love Detroit, way more then you hate it
I see no ghetto, why act like we the ones who made it
I'm the guy who's enjoying all that high life
Being up all night until I see that sunrise
When the fights get to jumpin' in the clubs it's on
I see trouble brewing up best believe I'm gone
It will get so hot, everyone in the place will burn
If that place gets robbed again, man I ain't concerned
I'm a tell you what a friend told me better watch your back
If caught walking on the east side got to be strapped with a gat
Man that second life ain't too far
You know where we hella are

[Chorus x2]

Don't try to act like you don't know who I am either playa
In Detroit all the time playa, it's about that time playa

The parody is an accurate representation of Detroit, but only a partially accurate representation of the suburbs. The suburbs to the west of Detroit (other than Redford) are generally good, while south and southwest is where the crime is. The only two safe suburbs of Detroit are Livonia (where I live) and Plymouth (the western side of Canton is pretty safe also). But, no matter how true the parody was, it wasn't very funny.

Somebody must've held those Tigers. And with football season coming up, you must hide your Lion eyes.

Mike, in northwest D isn't that where the father killed like three of his kids plus burned his house, not to mention there was only one kid who survived which was the four? that's what I was talking about when I said the people in the suburbs were just as crazy. Michael P., i never did like baseball so the hell with the Tigers, although I do where a Tigers hat with the "D" logo. as for the Lions, I'm a die hard fan of them. I just don't like Charles Rogers, then again he's a nobody being from MSU.
