Stryper This Christian metal band were formed with the name "Roxx Regime". Following thier dedication to God, Rob Sweet was reading his Bible at Isaiah 53v5; ...By His Stripes You were Healed.... He came up with the word "Striper". Somebody pointed out that the spelling would lead to mis-pronunciatiom, so the name was changed to Stryper.
