Simple Minds', "Belfast Child"
The Lyrics:
Some say troubles abound
Some day soon they're gonna pull the old town down
One day we'll return here
When the Belfast child sings again
Why:
This song clearly is about 'the Troubles' in Northern Ireland, lasting for three decades, the Catholics, who wanted a united Ireland as a republic and the Protestants, wanting to stay within the UK. Thus, as has always been the case throughout history, religion and politics were intertwined.

Simple Minds', "Ghost Dancing"
The Lyrics:
You talk about the Lebanon
You tell me 'bout the Dawn in Eden
You talk about South Africa
I tell you about the Irish children
You say one more Polish Knight could come
and blow away the doors to Freedom
And if Mother Ethiopia could blow away the tears that we see run
Why:
Polish Knight sounds like the knight originally from Poland. By the way, what does it have to do with "Dawn in Eden"
