Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Weather Girls

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Weather Girls', "It's Raining Men"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Israeli men, hallelujah!
The Real Lyrics:
It's Raining Men, hallelujah!
The Story: After studying the Bible in my R.S exam, I went home and shoved on tmf to find this song on. In a state of mild confusion and brain melt-downingness, I thought the people were saying 'Israeli Men', only to find they weren't. So you see this is why exams are bad for you. - Submitted by: Gorge Gangst Gal
Weather Girls', "It's Raining Men"
The Misheard Lyrics:
It's raining red
Hallelujah, it's raining red.
The Real Lyrics:
It's raining men
Hallelujah, it's raining men.
The Story: When I first heard this song a few years ago, I thought that it was disco's attempt at singing heavy metal lyrics. I had to listen carefully before finding out what it's really about. - Submitted by: Two Magic Lovers
