Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Treble Charger

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Maybe It's Me album at
Treble Charger's, "American Psycho"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Now I know how far you'd go
To be there next spring
Tell me and I get phycho.
The Real Lyrics:
And now I know how far you'd go
To be the next freak show
American Psycho.
The Story: I loved this song. I heard it on the radio and I would sing along. However, to me it meant that she did something great to be able to see him (which was next spring). What I didn't get was what was up with the whole story about her being famous and all. I figured she was somebody who did something big to see him but now she was gone and he wished he never had seen her. I also figured she was some big model and star. Something had gone on and now he could no longer see her and he was mad. He now had to see her picture on a magazine and all this stuff, which made him wish he never had known her. I was trying to find the song with the lyrics I knew (I didn't know the song name or artist). Some how I found it and figured out my mistake. So I came here to show my mistake. - Submitted by: Zorgirl
