Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Cheese town twirling through my mind.
These sounds fall into my mind.
The Story: I have been trying to find this song on iTunes and the like for YEARS now. I think I even looked for it on Napster when no one was being prosecuted for downloading music. It was only by giving it one last try and finding this site that I can finally get the song that I have been wanting ever since a friend gave me a mix tape (which I subsequently lost) in 1996! I have been looking for this song for 9 years. All because I thought the phrase was 'cheese town'. - Submitted by: Julie
Pizza's goin' through my mind.
These sounds fall into my mind.
The Story: I kept trying to figure out what the real lyrics were, and alternately kept wondering why there was a techno-ish song about pizza. - Submitted by: Silver Wolf
Details flowing through my mind.
These sounds fall into my mind.
The Story: I had been trying to figure this out for a decade - The song came on at my gym twice, and I wanted to make them page the rest of the members over the PA to try to figure out what the song was. They wouldn't help... Fortunately the internet is forgiving! - Submitted by: Mighuel
Pease pudding, gravy chips and pies.
These sounds fall into my mind.
The Story: My dad overheard me playing this tune. The food obsessed lard bucket thought these were the lyrics. Mind you, he also thought Paul young sang 'Every time you go away, you take a piece of meat with you' - Submitted by: kandyhead
