Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Morris Albert

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Morris Albert's, "Feelings"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Feelings, for all my love of feelings.
I wish I've never let you go.
You'll never come again.
Feelings, feelings like I never love you.
And feelings like I never have you.
The Real Lyrics:
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl.
You'll never come again.
Feelings, feelings like I've never lost you.
And feelings like I've never have you.
The Story: One of many my very favorite songs that included on sad songs compilation. It also makes no sense at all for the lyrical content of this song. About this song: Morris recorded "Feelings" as a single and later included it as the title track of his debut studio album released in 1975. "Feelings" was reaching #2 on the adult contemporary chart, #4 on the UK Singles Chart, and #6 on Billboard's Pop Chart. Become Morris as one of many one-hit wonder artists. Over the next few years "Feelings" was performed by Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Bassey, Nina Simone, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, The O'Jays, Julio Iglesias, Johnny Mathis, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Al Martino, and many other vocalists. It was also recorded by numerous easy listening bandleaders and ensembles such as Percy Faith, Ferrante & Teicher, Franck Pourcel, 101 Strings, and Herb Ohta, whose ukulele rendition was recorded with André Popp's orchestra. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
